Agreed but players have to have a sense of when it’s just not going in.

I disagree with that.

Shooter always has to have the mindset that the next one is going in. Otherwise player isn’t a good shooter.

Take good shots.

Shots missed in the past only impact the future if the player is in his head and losing confidence.

I very much doubt that is the case with Melo Ball. Just maybe needs to take fewer highly contested 3s.

I never dreamed we would get to 50 3s a game consistently and having guys like Ball miss 15 3s en route to a 30 plus point game.
That's not good basketball.

Oh I can see that. I guess there is just nothing going to change the fact that when threes are not going in it’s just going to be ugly. I don’t hear complaints when the Thunder are shooting 40 percent as a team from 3 and that happens a lot more than when it’s ugly. It’s just so bad when it’s bad that people don’t forget.

I’m no wrestling guru by any means but people think wrestling post-90s is better than the 90s? Lol…

Never watched wrestilng

But trying to compare a scripted entertainment event to an actual sport is crazy talk.

It reminds me of pro wrestling after it wasn’t real anymore after the 70s and early 80s. It used to be awesome.

Think it was just a comparison of differing opinions of eras. I hope so anyway.

Disagree...sort of.

Like Lakers analyst Stu Lantz always says..."Let success be your guide. If the shot is falling...keep shooting. If it's not, shoot closer to the hoop, then go back to the 3."

Sometimes, a player just needs to see a couple of shots go in to get the rest of his game going.

I liked the 80's because folks were starting to figure out that it was fake...but they hadn't admitted it yet...so there was still that little bit of question over whether or not it was real.

I mean sure. Attack the basket if you can.

This game in question Ball did that. He was 8-14 from 2 and 9-10 from the line.

He just missed most of his 3s.

And some guys are specialists. You don’t want them attacking.

Much different level, but when I used to play I legitimately shot a higher percentage on 3s than I did on shots in the paint.

Would be stupid for a specialist to change who they are.

Shooters shoot. That is their job.

Late 70s I’m jr high me and some buddies used to go watch mid south wrestling at the state fairgrounds. Saw all the greats, Andre the Giant, Dusty Rhodes, Dick Murdoch, Junkyard Dog, Cowboy Bill Watts. There was always a little old lady there front row who would constantly yelled “beat his ass”. I have no doubt in her mind it was real lol. Those were the days.

Want to fix the NBA?
1. Shorten the length of the season to 62 games so the players play every game or lengthen the time the season takes to play so the players can recover between games.

2. Get rid of pussy fouls. Stop calling a flagrant due to violent contact. Make there only be 1 flagrant type of foul, and that’s if the intent was just to hurt someone with no basketball play in mind. If a guy gets leveled for driving in the paint, it’s just a common foul. Quit babying these guys.

3. Stop getting political. People watch sports to escape their daily lives. We don’t need Lebron lecturing us about BLM or Royce White doing the same with MAGA. We want to watch good basketball teams play each other.

This would make for a much more entertaining game and it will continue to evolve into a much more entertaining game. The stars would play in more games, the iso ball would die fast, and there wouldn’t be massive non basketball reasons why people refuse to watch.

BLM hurt the nfl too. I’d be all for Nick not doing that if they weren’t putting those stupid empty lefty slogans on their helmets.

1) This would change nothing since most people are bitching about style of play. Changing the length of the season does nothing to fix the primary issue right now.

2) They made changes to this since last year and the refs are letting much more go now. The way they call flagrant fouls is fine to me now because if you allow guys to get clotheslined and just call it a common foul then the opposing team will want they get back and that can lead to fights and etc.

1. If Im a poor person who pays to take my son to see the lakers so they can watch Lebron play, and he decides to rest, I’m fucking pissed and probably won’t give the nba my money anymore. That’s just as big of a problem. It may not be noticeable in the short term, but over the years it can take its toll.

2. I don’t care. Let them fight then toss the idiot thugs afterward.
