Two good games? I'm not sure what people consider "good". To put it in perspective of how bad his team is around him, he has a better QB rating than Matthew Stafford but I guess that isn't saying much. He's had two GREAT games and three good games.

Fields is improving but at a slow rate. It would be beneficial if he wasn't with this organization. I would say it would be beneficial for Chicago but they have so many issues within the organization I'm not sure Caleb, whiney baby, Williams is going to help them either.

The only way he will progress into a starting caliber QB is if he leaves the Bears. They are doing him no favors with the shit OL play, coaching and horrible FO. It would be a blessing for him to leave but that doesn't mean he will succeed. He still has a clear issue going through his progressions and reading defenses.

I wish I could see Fields in a different offense. There are clearly plays where he holds the ball too long but he also shows out at times

This is such an enormous decision for Chicago. If they are 60/40 on keeping him adding 2 top 10 picks to that is very interesting

Fields backup this year has a better winning percentage than Fields does
Fields: 63.5%, 201ypg, 7.1ypa, 13 TD's to 6 INT's, 91.8 Passer Rating.

Bagent: 65%, 171ypg. 6ypa, 3 TD's to 6 INT's (LOL), 71.4 PR.

Nobody in their right mind would want Bagent starting over Fields if both were healthy. It's not even close.

LOL.

perhaps the fantasy points are the problem.
Yeah. Stafford just dropped 60+ points the last two weeks against two of the best defenses in the NFL. Fantasy points don't count for that

Small sample size.

Not to mention W-L record for the QB is one of the most overrated stats in pro football. 22 starters on offense and defense.

I do think we are at a point where I dont think the Bears would move on if it wasn't for the fact that the Panthers being garbage locks them in the top 2. Eyeballing Justin Fields stats and he is basically taking the same number of sacks but adding 50 yards of passing while losing 25 yards rushing. So we've seen improvement with a better supporting cast. That said...time to move on. I think Fields can have a Tannehill-ish type of career on a second team.

The Bears upcoming offseason may be one of the hardest ones to predict in recent memory. While a lot of people think moving off of Fields is the answer, it may come down to what the Bears can or will do with their coaching staff. They might just stick with Fields and draft another weapon in Harrison Jr. I'm not saying this is what they should do or not but it is a possibility.

The 5th year option for Fields is a guaranteed $21.98M, which would be crazy to pick up at this time. The question for the Bears is do they want Fields as their 2024 starter on a cheap $2.36M contract or do they move on. Not cementing himself in as the starter for 2024 on a cheap contract after 3 years pretty much forces the Bears to seek a new QB. Given how much Draft stock they have I don't see how they can pass on a rookie QB.
