We pretty much all are thinking one of the same 5 guys in the first. Who is your guy for the second pick?
If it OT or Milliner in first...Hunt or Carridine in 2nd
Ansah in 1st...I like a G/RT guy as in Long, Warford or Pugh

This draft is deep with talent. Mayhew needs to land 3 impact starters with the first 3 picks!!

While I'd be thrilled if we landed Fisher in the first, I wouldn't mind Ansah because we need an edge rusher and I don't love the round 2 DE's. There are strong o-lineman at the round 2 level, though. Both Long and Warford would be great. We'd still have issues at OT, but you can only fill so many holes at a time. Even in round 3 we could land a fine OG in Dallas Thomas if we go elsewhere in round 2. If not, hopefully several decent CB's will still be around in round 3. I like Jordan Poyer, from Oregon St.

Yea, but what do you think about Barrett Jones?

First round should be OT, or CB

Second round should be DE

Third round should OT, CB or WR

bjoern werner!!! dream scenario. If not him then, damontre moore, tank carradine, alex okafor, or margus hunt. Basically a DE. I like the 2nd round talent more than i do the 1st rd talent. Fisher or Milliner in the 1st, preferabely Fish

Darrius Slay! He'd be a day one starter for us.

If we get a DE or CB with the 2nd round pick I'll be happy.

There's not as many 3rd round prospect DEs, but one name to watch for our system is Corey Lemonier, Auburn. He's a bit smaller for a DE at 6'3" 260 lbs, but he's quick and athletic, which suits our (crappy) system well.

He's still pretty raw, but he's got a lean frame that could easily handle another 10-15 lbs and he also has long arms (34 1/2"), which is nice for a DE. His 4.60 40 time at the combine doesn't hurt either.

He'd need to be coached up to reach his potential, but he's reported to have a great attitude and good motor, might be worth a shot in the 3rd...

1st round -- Fisher, Joeckel, Warmack or Milliner. I'd be fine with any of them.

2nd round -- Carradine, Woerner, Okafor (if they go OL or CB in the 1st)
Jamar Taylor, Darrius Slay, David Amerson (if they go OL or DE in the 1st)

If they pass on an OL in the 1st round -- there is no need to spend a 2nd rounder on an OL, as the next group of OL are pretty much all the same, unless one of the top guys falls out of the 1st round and into their lap in the 2nd.

1st = CB-Milliner
2nd = DE-Hunt
3rd = C-Barrett Jones

I had considered the idea of G-Pugh in the 2nd round, but changed my mind. I really hope Jones is there for RD-3 and I dont like the idea of adding two early O-linemen in the draft. I would rather the Lions draft one lineman every year so that they always have more talent coming up and keep it strong in the future. But still give them time to develop one at a time. Too many rookies in one area can hurt a lot.

My ideal scenario is trading back in the first, gaining a 2nd round pick, drafting warmack in the first, werner/slay in the 2nd and Jones in the 3rd.

Now that is a scenario I can get behind.......Drafting Warmack strait up at 5 I can't get behind....

How far you have us trading back? Warmack around 10? with a extra 2nd.......I can get on board with that.....

Still prefer the big three fish......Joeckel/Fisher or Millner......I would be happy with a trade back extra pick and warmack....Just not at 5.

I would have loved Cyprien before they signed Quin, now a safety is not something we really need. I will not pick a cb for my favorite seconds because I choose to assume Milliner in the first.

I like Carradine, Worford, or Menilik Watson

Quin can also function as our nickel. And with Louis D's recent injury concerns, safety is still a position I'd be fine with seeing addressed early in the draft.

The second round looks really nice this year as does the first. I wouldnt mind seeing us move up a few spots maybe if the right guy was falling...like say a Bjorn Werner.

I'm with Shitty Smitty on this one. Quin can drop down and cover the slot, so having a 3rd good safety really gives us some options. A lot of coaches are starting to experiment with 3 safety sets to combat the emergence of multi-TE sets, as well.

And of course there's Delmas' injury history to consider. Having another starting caliber safety to step in if he goes down would be huge.

I do like our safety depth behind Quin and Delmas, though. Don Carey looked the part of a capable back-up last season when pressed into duty. He made a game-winning play in the Houston game, but the W wasn't in the cards. Spievey may or may not be healthy, but if he is he's a capable reserve. Tyrell Johnson is a guy not to be overlooked as well. He was a full-time starter for his first two years in Minnesota before injuries derailed him a bit. As a reserve for us though he's got the ability to be a good option.

As far as the draft goes I like Cyprien, really like Phillip Thomas, and I like Duke Williams in the 4th or 5th, he's going to be a steal for someone...
