I would say Elway ... Dude threw the ball like a baseball .. Marino also had a lot of velocity ...

Pure arm strength was probably some backup scrub no one has ever heard of.

Pure arm strength in a QB who could actually play the game would have to be Elway.

Jeff George had about as strong an arm as I've ever seen. It's a shame his brain was under developed.

Marino and Elway had great arms, but nothing like Jeff. Bert Jones had a great arm and so did Drew Bledsoe who is a ginormous fella with a canon for an arm.

I've seen Stafford fling it 70 yards through the air in college. I'm not sure I've seen anyone else top that.

Brady won the long toss at the QB skills competition at the Pro Bowl in his 3rd or 4th year :noidea: with a throw of just over 70 yds.

I would think that most NFL QB's can fling it that far considering I am fast approaching 55 and I can still throw it 50 yds. I Russell Wilson's size BTW and most of these guys are huge.

I'll just leave this here..... 71 and 74 yds thrown in the comp.

Stafford claims he can toss it 75 yards I just haven't seen it. Mind you the 70 yard throw I'm talking about was in a game and he overthrew the receiver by quite a bit.

Didn't the Ravens draft Kyle Boller because he threw the ball like 70+ yards from one knee in a pre-draft work out with them?

Thats the quote, yes. He couldn't even throw it 40 by the time he got to the Rams.

Longest real play would probably by the Kordell Stewart Hail Mary in college

I'm surprised nobody has said Favre yet. I think what we have here is a conversation about two different types of throws...If we are talking the fastball gun it in there type of the launch it deep type. The fastball I would give it to Favre or Elway. The launch it deep I honestly would go with Dan Marino.

No doubt Stafford has an arm... I can only speak for seeing Flacco throw it and he throws a missile.
