Who gets the C in Ottawa

For the first time since the 90s the Sens need a new captain.
Strong candidates are:
Spezza
Phillips
Neil

Outside chance of:
Methot
Karlsson

I'm guessing it will be Spezza. I think management respects how hard he's worked to round out his game. If it happens I hope that Spezz steps up his game to match the opportunity.

Any of Methot, Phillips and Neil would be a solid choice too.

It will probably be Spezza, but I think it should be Phillips. He's a better example and can work closer with Karlsson until he's ready in a year or two. I like Spezza a lot, but in the last 10 years, Phillips has been more of a warrior and more reliable. No matter what the team has asked of him he's done it and done it without complaining. Not that Spezza complains, but there have been times his commitment has been questioned.

I agree. I'd give it to Phillips as well.

Karlsson was the first that came to mind with the NHL trend of giving it to a young franchise player, but with some of the long time Sens on that roster, I'd give the nod to Phillips probably.
