Ill drop it in here because i dont know if it needs its own thread

WHL draft tomorrow

reading there is a possibility of 10 kids from the Vancouver area being picked in the 1st round ... thats nuts!

Cliff Ronning tells us his son Ty has more high end speed than he did. Ty will be selected in round 1 of the WHL bantam draft 2morrow.

Cliff says Ty has the knack of finding the net - 77 goals at BWC this season. Fun kid to watch says Cliff.

Ty is small but great hockey sense and works hard says Cliff. Twice Ty was cut from the "A" team at BWC but never gave up.

which brings me back to a story i think i posted before ... hot summer day at the grocery store a few years back ... doing some shopping I see this midget in flip flops pacing the chips aisle ... looked like a penguin .... the back of his grey tshirt drenched in sweat ... I hear him ask a store clerk who's just a kid himself "how many bags of chips would I need for a birthday party with 7 kids?" ... Cliff Ronning lol

best of luck to Ty Ronning in the draft tomorrow

/Seattle expected to take BWC's Mathew Barzal with the 1st pick in the WHL bantam draft tomorrow.

And Ty Ronning goes 15th overall to...drum roll...the Vancouver Giants. Not shocking at all I knew as soon as he fell that far that the Giants would take him. I thought the Chiefs might grab him at 14 but they opted to go for defense instead (a pretty smart move considering all the young scorers Spokane will have coming in next season).

#WHL banatam draft - 5 of the top 8 over-all picks are from lower mainland (vancouver). Goes in cycles, might not see that again for a while.

I had a feeling that the Giants fans would like this.

That's pretty shocking considering just how much of North America you can draft from in the WHL. Fantastic year for youth hockey in Vancouver.

So Jesse Roach is 14 or 15 years old and already 6'3" tall?!? I guess the right team (Giants) selected him.

ahhh, the old Rob Neidermayer ploy:

Seth Jones' younger brother, Caleb, was selected 64th overall by Portland in the WHL Bantam draft. Portland has negotiating rights to Seth.

lol @ why Ty Ronning is a right winger

Cliff Ronning: "when he was younger I needed someone to pass to me and set me up for 1 timers during the summer"

Game 3 will supposedly be televised live on Root so that's nice.

games 1 and 2 have both been televised on Root Sports. In fact, I think they made a deal the entire WHL final would be aired on Root sports.
