....coming out of your camp/scrimmages? The good stuff and the bad stuff...

From LSU's camp:

LSU is not naming a QB before the game, but I would bet a paycheck that the soph Jennings gets the start just based on the little bit of experience he has. From what I hear, the true freshman Harris has a gun of an arm with some problems in accuracy. He's more mobile than Jennings as well, but has never taken a snap at this level of course.

Leonard Fournette appears to be the real deal as a RB and should see some touches in this game, but Magee and Hilliard will have the majority of the snaps. Our O-line should be stout as frick this year, so I'm sure we will see the run game early and often to take the heat off the young QB with some dump passes out to the flats.

WR is a big question mark exacerbated by the young QB's. I have no idea what this part of LSU's game will look like.

On defense, we are strong at safety, CB's and OLB's. Out DT's are young but deep and our MLB sucks butt. Is Gordon an up the middle RB or does he run the edges or both? I think he will have a good degree of success running up the middle. Edges, not so much.

Quid pro quo. What you got?

I would have posted this on your team board, but it doesn't look very active.

A lot of similarities between the two teams. Great O-lines returning, great RBs, solid DBs.

Wisconsin should be improved in the passing game with 5-7 WRs who are competing for time, as opposed to basically having one receiver who could catch anything last season. TEs are always solid. Wisconsin will definitely be run heavy, but probably more balanced than some may think. Also look for some read option packages mixed in with either McEvoy or Freshman Gillins.

Defensively.. who knows. The LBs are pretty raw, but all much better athletes than UW has had back there for the most part. Defensive line is thin, which worries me.

UW has a freshman kicker with a massive leg. At their scrimmage I saw him hit a FG from 55 with plenty to spare (talking like 60-63 yards).

That said, it's tough to make a good read as to who will win this game. Special teams/turnovers will be a deciding factor I'd guess.

I heard about this fucking game wayyy too much while in WI a couple weeks ago. The only decent analysis was my bro who said if LSU can control the clock by keeping the ball, UW will have a long day because it'll take them awhile to score on possessions.
If LSU doesn't control the clock on O, UW's running game will eventually wear down your D and run all over your ass.
Clock mgmt. - Les Miles specialty!

When UW tries to pass they'll be at high risk of a turnover and might blow the game wide open. That's what I'm hoping because the Badger early season delusions of grandeur are annoying.

Still upset this isn't a Home-Home series.

"Neutral" in NFL stadiums of close proximity to one school or the other, still closer to home-home series than a lot of other 1 shot "neutral" games

So, Tanner McEvoy will be starting QB. Whether this means he'll play more than Stave, or whether it is just gamesmanship, should be revealed it 8 days.

I'm guessing both will play. Similar situation we had with TCU last year.

Fournette is a true freshman. He's supposed to be special but he will not get the majority of carries this game.

I am at a wedding on Saturday.

But fortunately it's in Spain, so the festivities should be over by kickoff. Basically I've got a full top shelf open bar to pregame with :)
