Denver is the biggest favorite this week, but I would not bet on them to cover the spread. While I do think (hope?) that they will win, SD has played us very well this year, possessing the ball for about 38 minutes both games and holding us to two of our three lowest point totals of the season. If the Broncos don't run effectively and stop the SD run, then SD definitely has a chance to win.

Elway needs to bring everyone into the film room Saturday and have the team watch a replay of last years Ravens loss just to give them the sick feeling we all had last year. Broncos need to come out pissed with a chip on their shoulders.

I'm sure that all of the players and coaches remember how they felt after that game. Definitely don't want to experience that again!

that is a tough one. I voted 49ers at Carolina because the teams are so similar - great defense, great run game, young QBs that are great runners

but Colts v Patriots in the playoffs is always huge. Luck, the young QB anointed as The One vs the veteran HOFer Brady who has more rings than anybody

and T3O did a good job above at pointing out reasons why SD at Den is compelling

as for the NFC Championship, a Saints at Panthers divisional championship rematch would be cool (although highly unlikely), the one I really want to see is SF at SEA

In the AFC Championship, lots of good possibilities. Brady v Manning of course. And the new Colts QB Luck v the old Colts QB Manning would be cool - their game in Indy earlier was one of my favorite games of the season. I would also like seeing Rivers and sunny SD outside in the cold vs Brady and the Pats. And Rivers vs Luck would be cool because I would like to see each of them in the Super Bowl at least once

Sorry STBR but I prefer the simplicity of italics...the quote option you mention turns everything into italics, thus the confusion when mojo quoted me.

It was mojo's sarcasm I was chuckling over. The other teams are very quick to use the fact that all teams have injuries and that's true but a pair of game changing players like Vince Wilfork and Rob Gronkowski are not found on all teams. If the Pats had both of those guys even with the other injuries, I'd be friggin' boasting about the Pats chances. Alas, I am not. If by some chance, we make it to the big game, I don't think we have the horses to beat the NFC's best.

They are all going to be good but i am very excited to see the Bronco's Chargers game because many people do not think the Chargers can win and I disagree.

This is the one game I just can't call. On paper, the Broncos should take care of business. MVP QB with top notch receivers--and Welker's back--against one of the worst, if not the worst, secondary in the NFL. However, the Chargers are somehow finding ways to win games and the defense has actually been doing a pretty good job. I'll call it like this..if the Chargers win, it will be extremely close, if we lose, the Broncos will take us to the woodshed.

Niners-Panthers, although Peyton in the playoffs is always a must see.

I hope we do take you to the woodshed, but being a division opponent, I see a close game with Denver moving on.

Weather should be great for football.

I just think SD backed into the playoffs and then had the game last week handed to them by Dalton. DEN should blow them out.

IND is inconsistent, so it is hard to judge what team will show up, but I still think that game will be a blow out, I just don't know if it will be the Patriots winning big or the Colts winning big?

NO does not match up well with SEA and the result should be about the same as it was a month ago, but stranger things have happened in the NFL.

That leaves SF and CAR, which should be a hard fought battle. SF has the edge with more offensive weapons, but can Kaep get the ball to them? CAR has homefield and an advantageous start time.

Nobody has blown SD out all year. Nobody. Including the broncos who had 2 tries and the undefeated bengals at home who were predicted to do the same. In fact, I'm not sure there is a team with more and better quality wins than Chargers. @kc, @denver, @cincy, @philly, kc, colts, cowboys...

You may end up being right. But there is nothing I see to support it.

A homer pick for the 9ers vs the Panthers but I have to wonder how the Broncos will handle the Chargers.

Nothing like a division game in the playoffs. However the injury report made me a bit nervous today.

.

They've played 8 quarters this year: Denver 48, SD 47. Over the past 6 quarters: SD 41, Denver 27.

Chargers biggest loss all year is by 8. Could happen, but according to Vegas betting on the Broncos means you think the Chargers will suffer their worst loss of the entire season.

I've never understood how winning 4 straight is "backing in". Starting 9-3 then losing 4 straight would've been backing in.
