Exactly, so why would he waive his trade clause.??
Next year he will be a FA.

To get playing time this season....and earn his NEXT contract.Exactly, so why would he waive his trade clause.
Even if traded he'd still be a free agent and he'd get to audition for his next team with the playing time.Exactly, so why would he waive his trade clause.
If he waive his no trade clause he's in the same boat he's in now and the team who trades for him gives up picks to have him for 1 year, unless he agrees to a contract with the new team.To get playing time this season....and earn his NEXT contract.
LOL.
I can agree with if a starter gets hurt, JG is a great option, but unless that happens there's no reason for JG to do the 9ers a 2nd favorEven if traded he'd still be a free agent and he'd get to audition for his next team with the playing time.
I mean say Mahomes gets hurt and Reid wanted to trade for you. You'd definitely want to go there to pump up your numbers to increase your price tag in free agency.
All the no-trade clause means is Jimmy isn't stuck with wherever the 9ers want to send him and he can choose if he wants to go or not.
For a 4th or 5th. He will be a rental. If he waive his no trade clause he's in the same boat he's in now and the team who trades for him gives up picks to have him for 1 year, unless he agrees to a contract with the new team.
The Browns need a QB.The no trade no tag clause makes him less desirable to any team unless they are a contender who loses their QB to injury.
The Browns need a QB.
Brissett isn't the answer while Watson is out.
Easier to deal Jimmy G now.So, as to the OP's poll, I guess Potato Salad was the correct choice!
Who had San Fran +800??
True. Even so, I doubt that a trade happens.Easier to deal Jimmy G now.
Oh, it will....True. Even so, I doubt that a trade happens.
Yup... the biggest thing to come out of this is Jimmy coming to terms with his market value right now. That surgery cost him $20M.He is only making 7 mill now?
Some team loses a starter early in the season and they'll be calling SF.
Incentives can lead to it being as much as 16 mill.Yup... the biggest thing to come out of this is Jimmy coming to terms with his market value right now. That surgery cost him $20M.
That's my guess but not knowing anything about his personal life maybe he just did not want to move?He wouldn't want to waive it if it meant he could start somewhere else if a starter got hurt?
Pretty sure he would.
Nah, he did that to facilitate a trade....he doesn't want to be there backing up Lance. That's my guess but not knowing anything about his personal life maybe he just did not want to move?
Good point though that last part might rule out the Browns if they are even interested.Nah, he did that to facilitate a trade....he doesn't want to be there backing up Lance.
Easier to trade somebody with a base of 7 and incentives leading up to 16 mill than somebody making a guaranteed 25 mill. And he could go somewhere and audition for his next contract.
