Playing on turf, the Niners desperately needed some speed today. Where were the rooks? They could've ran a reverse, some a couple screens, etc.

I know this team is pretty stacked, but its hard to believe they have 1st and 2nd round picks that haven't seen the field through 3 weeks. No matter how raw they are, you really should hope to see some contribution from at least one of them this early.

Still doesn't answer the question. He doesn't have to play on 3rd down. We have two backs - Gore and Hunter - who are decent at pass pro.

And if you go back to last year, you have Kap also sitting.....3 of their 4 top prospects unable to contribute on the field so far. And really, Aldon was supposed to be much more of a longterm project than he turned out to be.

Dixon is better on special teams I guess, because Dixon sure has no value on offense except for making fans want to break things.

Here, let me be more specific. Why would you activate someone who cannot play ST's, cannot block and cannot pass pro over others who can do either two or all three?

Because, oh I dunno, he can actually run the ball, and gives an offense a dimension it doesn't already have? Dixon doesn't see the field at all on offense - even as a blocker/protector, so I don't even know why you'd even mention those.
