KC is going to Denver. Elway has proven he will bring a QB in to win now. Denver is a QB away from being a major contender. They can use the number five pick to trade down and improve that OL while picking up future firsts.
I can understand the Denver pick with the win now mentality but I really think KC is smarter than that and is looking at a bigger picture. Cleveland is about to become a force in the NFL... It's just their time. Just like in stocks,,, you buy in on the low.

If you're right, and I'm not disputing that possibility, but if you're right, one of two things happened to get him there. First, he had no say in that move, meaning, somehow, someway, this team managed to trade him there. Secondarily, if it is his call, then he's royally fucked himself in the long term as Denver is built to win yesterday, not two, three, four, years out.

Interesting spin. But if you had to place your trust in either Bruce or Elway to make the right move.. the shrewd move to improve the team... Are you banking on Bruce??

Are you really asking me to choose between a Jackass and his twin brother?

Well lets see, one has a Super Bowl ring as a QB, and a Ring as a GM.

The others claim to fame is he was a coaches kid and he can make Dan Snyder smile without getting undressed.

Right to all of that...but check this out, One is an arrogant prick who believes that everything that he does is correct. He's also managed to work his way into the front offices because of something in his past. The other is exactly the same, YOU choose!

fair enough, but that means neither, my original point. Denver won't be Kirk's choice!

Cousins is not going to the browns so he can be the "hero" of cleveland, thats absurd. Yes, I'm sure he desires a big payday, but what he also desires, is a chance to be in an organization that DOESN'T have a reputation for dysfunction (no offense Skins fans, but it's true), and Cleveland is a loooooong way way from being a real contender with year-to-year stability, dont kid yourselves into believing this contrived idea that the browns are "close". The Broncos will pay him well enough, and along with their recent track record, it will be enough to seal the deal

Bills because he can win them a championship which will make him an Iconic figure..... Realistically Zona because they are still a decent team with Fitz still playing at a high level. A good QB and a good draft could put them over the top.

You don’t think they can still be winning with these guys in four, three, or even two years? It is next season or nothing? They also pick 5 overall which will be prime trade back position.

I believe that it's Cleveland for these reasons.

1. First the money will too much to turn down.

2. Legendary status..In the last 3 seasons the Browns are 4-44, there's no real pressure to win a SB and if they win 8 games with Kirk, statues will be erected in his honor.

3. The new GM, John Dorsey will continue to build a new, more respected, and competitive version of the Browns, and it won't take long before they are second in the division ahead of Baltimore and Cincinnati. If Roethlisberger retires as has been hinted at, I could see the Brown claiming a division title fairly quickly.

4. Finally, in a bit of irony, the RGIII factor...Cousins originally drafted to be Griffin's back-up ultimately replaced him here in DC, their careers are tied together in that Kirk has succeeded where Griffith has not. Wouldn't it be a nice final step in their journey to see Kirk once again flourish where Griffin failed?
I think Cleveland is arguably the most logical team for Kirk to pick, it's just not the team he will pick, imo.

Here's a list of John Elway's draft picks on offense just for fun since 2011:

  1. Orlando Franklin
  2. Julius Thomas
  3. Virgil Green
  4. Brock Osweiler
  5. Ronnie Hillman
  6. Montee Ball
  7. Tavarres King
  8. Vinston Painer
  9. Zac Desert
  10. Cody Latimer
  11. Michael Schofield
  12. Matt Paradis
  13. Ty Sambrailo
  14. Jeff Heurman
  15. Max Garcia
  16. Trevor Siemian
  17. Paxton Lynch
  18. DeVontae Booker
  19. Connor McGovern
  20. Andy Janovich
  21. Garrett Bolles
  22. Carlos Henderson
  23. Jake Butt
  24. Isiah McKenzie
  25. De'Angelo Henderson
  26. Chad Kelly

If I were Kirk Cousins I would not be super thrilled looking at this list. What the reality probably is is that Elway, being Elway, and his prior relationship with Manning, and the fact he has a SB win to his name as a GM, gets the deed done in my opinion; and it won't be more sophisticated than that. They might need to a cut a player(s?) to accommodate Cousins' contract, but that's a fairly trivial obstacle if push comes to shove looking at their roster with overthecap.

Maybe you're right, however, the argument that winning now, even a SB, is a specious one. If that were the ONLY factor, you, others and I would not be having this conversation because I would agree with Denver as the choice. BTW: I too, would factor Elway's draft history. Thanks for posting the list.

I can't see Elway paying Cousins 5/$125-$130M.

I can see the Jets paying him $150M and not even blinking.

He'll make either an immediate contender in their division, but he won't guarantee them the Championship or the Super Bowl.

Honestly, there are two teams who have deep enough cap money to make every other offer pale in comparison. You named one in the Jets, the other? the Browns.

You assume that Kirks main motivation will be the most money he can get. Going to be interesting if he takes less than the soul crushing deal to go someplace where he can do well on the field.

But then that would suggest that what he really wanted was out of the insane asylum known as Ashburn.

multiple posters just gave good points on why KC should pick Cle without the money factor.

I see reasons why people would hope he picks the Browns. But reality is, if winning matters at all, the Browns would be off the table.

The Browns might not have a winning season in 2018. But I bet they will in 2019 if KC chooses to go there. They have a lot of good young talent. Plus add Barkley and Chubb to the mix. Wow!! He should go to Cle. They could contend in that division in 2 years.
