Signing a FA outright and trading for are 2 very different things.

In my question I was trying to ask if all 3 could be Lakers this season.
Sorry I worded it incorrectly.

They'd have to find a taker for Deng without stretching him, let Randle walk, and trade for Kawhi before LBJ and George sign. It's possible.

Can Kawhi, PG and Lebron play together? I see Kawhi as a better version of PG, but they play in basically the same way.

Too many small forwards, unless PG can play as a shooting guard.

All can play basically the 2-4. Lebron 1-5. Kawhi 1-4. All can handle the ball and versatile defenders

Position only really matters in terms of whom you are able to defend, which isn't an issue with these guys. They all can space the floor and slash to the basket. Lebron would play as a combo PG and PF most likely, as he would the best in the post of the 3. It would be strange from the standard lineup, but in the days of positionless basketball, all 3 are tough to defend and can switch defensively onto just about anyone.

All three are a bit slow to chase after Curry.

Frankly, if it happens, I hope it doesn't work. :hope:

I hope LA gets all 3 of Lebron/PG/Kawhi and then signs Seth Curry to defend Steph. The Western Conference Finals will tear the Curry Household apart!

You'll have to forgive DJ. Most people would have understood what you meant.

He's just so butthurt with me that he loses his shit and gets all triggered when I post.

There are maybe 2-3 players in the entire league better suited to guard Curry than Paul George. Length helps a lot against a shooter like Curry.

Just a novice basketball fan here. My question is can they trade Randle and Ball plus draft picks for KL? I think they will most likely get both Lebron and PG no matter what. Just not sure how they make room for KL both from a money and personnel standpoint.

I don't think the Spurs want Ball. It's going to take Ingram plus some picks. Ingram's development would be halted if he has to compete against Kawhi, Lebron and PG, all of whom pretty much play the same position he does.

PG has played the 2 before. Also, all 3 of these players can play positions 2-4, Lebron can go 1-4. This is the perfect trio of positionless basketball that the league has found itself in for the last several years.

For the Lakers, they need to get rid of that Deng contract. If I have a chance with at least PG and Lebron, I'm giving up Ingram to the Spurs in hopes that they're also willing to take on that Deng contract.

Is there a scenario where the Lakers can sign LeBron, Khawi and George this summer?

Depends on the timing.

If they can get a trade for Kawhi completed first, they can then sign both Lebron and PG as long as they are able to move Deng's contract in the trade.

If they sign Lebron and PG first, then they can't trade for Kawhi because they will have waived Deng and stretched his contract.

I don't remember how it was done (just that it seemed complicated), but I remember reading an article where they said that the Lakers might be able to get Lebron and PG this summer and then clear space for Kawhi next summer.
