Yeah, but as of now, you don't have a shot at him.

Out of the realistic choices it's LeBron, George, Boogie.

Or

You could trade for a Kemba, Derozan.

But, are either of those guys enough to tempt LeBron?

Hell, I don't know if having both are enough.

George has to be one of the other guys....imo

Don't think we have enough for DeRozan.

Yeah that was more just an idea. The point is the lakers need a 3rd star. Not sure what move you can make without moving Ball. But I’m open to ideas.
They'd have to shed salary to get 3 guys.

I don't think they want to ship out Ball, Ingram.

But, say they sent them to the Bees for Kemba or the Barneys for Derozan?

George, LeBron Kemba/Derozan would beat every Team out East, the and the Rockets.

Probably not the Warriors though...

They’d have a shot. But that also leads to the problem of bron not wanting to be a 4.

Hence kawhi to be your stretch 4.

Do you trade for Kemba with ball there?

Kemba is the easiest guy to trade for salary wise.

A guy who would fit in really well wih them is Middleton in mil who will be in Thebes last year of his deal and the bucks have like their whole lineup expiring after next year.
I'd ditch Lonzo with the quicks for Kemba.

But, they could totally play together.

Lonzo is more of a playmaker and Kemba a scorer.

Perfect ying and yang.

Until I see Kawhi reject that Super Max, I say he's not available.

Sign a guy like Favors or fuck it...

Just play Kuzma at the 4.

You'd have to squander your youth because he makes over 30 mil.

Which is why Kemba would be better.

He makes 12. But, you'd have to extend him this Summer.

Nah, I say we shoot for James and PG......if not, re-sign Randle and a few guys to 1 year deals and try again next summer.

The Lakers play position-less basketball (which is the trend of the League right now), it wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, I don't see a Kemba or DeRozan trade happening. As you said, getting both isn't likely to get them Lebron.

Best bet, imo, is to go after PG, maybe try to trade for Kawhi, if PG stays put or goes somewhere else.

After that, just hang on to the cap space, develop the kids some more and try again in the next off-season when the FA class will be deeper.
Yep.

No need to be frivolous.

Save it for the right guys.

This. But, not sure I want that over what I proposed.

Yep.

I agree.

I'm just spitballing to construct a situation were you ended up with 3 guys.

Paul George and Lebron isn’t getting you past Houston or golden state.

I'm not sure about that. It definitely would make them competitive with those 2.

I know Houston made the WCF and took the Warriors to 7. But I'm not convinced they are sustainable.

I think that a big part of the reason the series went 7 is because of no Igg. Most seem to think that with Iggy, the series would have been over in 5.

Plus, CP3 is only getting older and more injury prone.

The Warriors are still a great team and likely the favorites, no matter what anyone does. But they are also getting older and we don't know if keeping them together is going to be financially viable after next season.

The Lakers are young and hopefully their kids will continue to improve. Add PG or Kawhi, who are also young and Lebron who is still the best player in the league...you've at least got a real solid shot.

I wouldn't want to give up any youngsters for DeRozan. Maybe for Kemba (especially if Ingram isn't one of them) because of his contract.

But I'd only want to do that if they're certain they're getting Lebron and PG.

^^^THIS^^^

Entertaining the idea of a trade for him is fun and all...but a super max is a helluva lot of money to walk away from.
