I'm sure he's, at the least, intrigued by the idea of playing alongside CP3 and Harden.

I'm just not sure how much sense it makes from a basketball perspective. Harden is ball dominant. In fact, he almost worthless without it. CP3 is ball dominant and Lebron is ball dominant.

There's only 1 ball.

Also, based on what was said at the time...part of the reason Lebron left Miami was D-Wade was unreliable because of injures.

CP3 hasn't exactly been an Iron Man over the past several years. So he'd actually be knowingly putting himself in pretty much the same situation that was part of why he left Miami.

Only the star he'd be left with when CP3 is out, is far more ball dominant than Bosh ever was.

That's why I don't see him going there.

With Harden and CP.....they aren't always on the floor at the same time so it has worked. With James (while it looks like a great trio on paper) it would be very hard.

In Miami, they had Wade and James as ball dominant players......Bosh wasn't. And he became the 3rd banana.

The lakers beat shot is to get PG13 to pull a Chris Paul so they can trade some players for him and use the Cap space on Lebron and cousins.

But cousins is an awfully big risk.

The other option would be signing pg13 and Lebron outright and offering up LONZO in a Kawhi deal.

None of what you said will happen.

I didn’t say it would. I just said what the best path to the lakers building a contender is.

Exactly. When he went to Miami and then returned to Cleveland, it obvious who have to sacrifice touches for the whole thing to work.

In Houston, who's giving up the ball?

After the ridiculous load he's had to carry this year, he might welcome the respite.

What now?

Paul George and Lebron isn’t getting you past Houston or golden state.

If you disagree with that then we might as well just end the convo there.

Harden.

It would have to be Harden.

Not sure how that would play.

But, as currently assembled, there isn't a better opportunity to beat the Warriors.

Gotta sacrifice to win.

Let's see if any of those guys actually mean it when they say winning is all that matters.

Westbrook is probably the only player that would rather win by his hand only.

He wants to win.

But, it has to be at his hands.

I don't see that in Paul or Harden.

......agree.

But, that all changes if Magic and Rob pull off a megatrade.

If the Lakers can put him on equal footing with the Warriors, he will be in purple and gold.

Winning, family, films....

He'd have all 3.

Good thing the Lakers have room for 2 max guys.

I think what PG does (or if the Lakers pulled off as trade for someone like Kawhi) will go a long way towards determining whether or not he comes to the Lakers.

One thing is certain, no other max guy...no Lebron.

As for the mentor thing...it may not be what he's looking for, but in the right situation, he can both be a mentor and have a real good shot at a title.

Harden won't.

It'd have to be CP since he is the one who is the one most likely to start his decline (among the 3) first.

Yeah that was more just an idea. The point is the lakers need a 3rd star. Not sure what move you can make without moving Ball. But I’m open to ideas.

Have I suggested that the Lakers could hit rock bottom from here? Which in my humble opinion isn't a bad option.

I'd honestly prefer Leonard (as unlikely as trading for him is) and James the most......since Leonard is still relatively young and could carry the torch once James is in decline.

The Lakers would need a guy to offset Gordon in that scenario.

They'd also have to have a guy to contend with Capela.

I'd put them 3rd out West.

But, Cp3 and his brittle bone syndrome is always the elephant in the room.

Yeah, but as of now, you don't have a shot at him.

Out of the realistic choices it's LeBron, George, Boogie.

Or

You could trade for a Kemba, Derozan.

But, are either of those guys enough to tempt LeBron?

Hell, I don't know if having both are enough.

George has to be one of the other guys....imo

Only in Philly, unless the Dubs disband.

....and I wouldn't bet money on that situation either, unless they got shooters.

Yeah, I don't see a Kemba or DeRozan trade happening. As you said, getting both isn't likely to get them Lebron.

Best bet, imo, is to go after PG, maybe try to trade for Kawhi, if PG stays put or goes somewhere else.

After that, just hang on to the cap space, develop the kids some more and try again in the next off-season when the FA class will be deeper.

Do you trade for Kemba with ball there?

Kemba is the easiest guy to trade for salary wise.

A guy who would fit in really well wih them is Middleton in mil who will be in Thebes last year of his deal and the bucks have like their whole lineup expiring after next year.
