Ball movement prevents double teams because the ball doesn't stick in anyone's hands long enough for the double team to get there.

This leads to open shots all over the court, not just on the perimeter.

The Warriors, for example, rarely get successfully double teamed because the ball is moving constantly and they are getting open shots all over the floor.

Seems to have worked pretty good.

People that know basketball understand this, it's pretty simple.

wait what? it doesnt matter that one of the guards is one of the best shooters of all time and the other one is one of the worst shooters in the league? of course that matters.

have you seen Ball shoot? if he was the only guy on the court i dont think hes shooting 40% from 3.

No, it doesn't matter and I explained why.

And again, why are you bringing up a player that you say won't be there?

Jason Kidd sucked as a 3 point shooter when he started his career in the NBA.....
very true...it took him about 15 years to develop a reliable one once he went to Dallas.

you just leave the guy that cant shoot and ignore him...this is rocket science.

the Warriors call it the "lineup of death" for a reason- because everyone can shoot and no one can be left alone.

When you have a guy that cant shoot- ESPECIALLY a guard that cant shoot in todays NBA where pace and space and 3 pt shooting are everything - it severely limits your offense.

Took him 15 years? Wrong.

He made 37% of his 3's in his 3rd season and 40% in his 4th season.

It's literally the simplest and best way to prevent a double team and it doesn't require anyone shooting 40+% from three to be successful.

But when some folks are desperate...:noidea:

And you're effectively saying Ball can't improve.

He also says that if Lebron comes to the Lakers, Lonzo won't be there. But then wants to use Lonzo's shooting as a reason Lebron won't come to the Lakers.

Like I said...when some folks get desperate...

Fuck
Now you’ve done it.
Were going to get a 1000 word rant stating as fact that you need to shoot at least 41% to be reliable.

he DEFINITELY can improve.....like you said Jason Kidd learned a reliable 3...it took him 14 years but he learned it.

I think Ball could be a very solid player someday- i just dont think LeBron is waiting around for youngsters when he has maybe 2-3 more years at his peak. I mean, does that not make fundamental sense?

Shit- he wouldnt wait on Wiggins in Cleveland and when he came to Cleveland he was what? 29? Hes gonna be 34 in December.

So you're just going to ignore his post that proves that 14 years statement of yours wrong and keep repeating that, are you?

nope...ill just give you his 3pt shooting per year --- you tell me if that year was an outlier- or that year was indicative of him improving.

id say a "decent" 3 pt shooter is about 35-36% for a guard

id say a "good" 3 pt shooter for a guard is 37-38%

id say a "great" 3 pt shooter for a guard is 39% and over

Kidd was a GREAT 3 pt shooter 1 year- and he only shot 100 three's that year. 100 three's is NOTHING now or then--- thats barely more than 1 a game. Irrelevant.

Ball shot 295 threes this year and only played in about 50 games.

think about that...thats crazy.....shows how much the 3 has grown in the game

100 three's isnt dick.

Look at it like Olympic Ice Skating.
Throw out the high score and the low score, and the rest are all pretty much the same.
He didnt become some drastically improved shooter later in his career.

I was going to point that out, without knowing the numbers.

i just posted his 3 pt shooting by year

you tell me.

Numbers dont lie.

He had a couple of dips, from time to time, but what DJ posted is correct.

The league average on 3's is .362% for 2017-18. The highest it's ever been was .367%.

So, pretty much anything over about 32-33% means you can't be left unguarded very much.
