Okay, I have a question. Now just saying, just saying, but what if Bo is fired after this season, and Nebraska calls Mark Richt. Would you be okay with that? In case you don't know, Mark is from Nebraska, and grew up a Husker lover. Okay, better yet, what if you could have Bo or Mark, who would you want.

My take.

I think Mark would get better recruits. But he is a massive underachiever. Bo I feel might be a better x and o's coach, but I don't think he could recruit as well as Mark. Bo has kept the program relative scandal free, with very few off the field incidents. Mark? not so much, UGA always has a few players in trouble. If push comes to shove, I would rather have Bo, but if it ever happened that Mark ended back home, I would welcome it.

he gets a shitload of flack for not being able to coach up talent, but i would take Richt in a second, no second guess, no doubts, no regrets

in fact there is probably only 3-5 other coaches id take over Richt...if that

The one most likely to lose to Michigan.

Seriously though, why Richt as a/the replacement/

Sure he's done ok at UGA, but as has been said before, he's done less with more than just about any other coach in CFB.

I'd be more inclined to look for a coach on an upward arc (such as Meyer was, Saban, etc) rather than a coach maintaining a status quo.

I mean, what has Richt done at UGA that Bo hasn't done at Nebraska (aside from bowl wins)?

Bo is 3 and 3 in bowl games for Nebraska.

But if I had my choice of any coach, realistically, I would want David Shaw, and then David Shaw, and for good measures, David Shaw. From the NFL I would want Jim Caldwell.

You don't think Richt would realistically consider Nebraska do you?

In the hypothetical situation I'd stick with Bo.

In a vacuum, no. But if Mark has another down season, say a 7 and 5 season, with a loss to Florida. I am sure the fans would think he just can't get it done, and would be hearing it. Lets not forget, his seat was really hot coming into last season.

So, it could be a case of getting out, while the getting is good.

If Nebraska could get any coach, any at all, I would want Mike McCarthy. I think kids would be lining left and right to play for him, plus he is young enough that he could do the job for another 20 years or so. He shows up and says, "yeah, I'm the guy that thought Aaron Rodgers how to throw, and here is my Super Bowl ring. I know everything that pro teams are looking for in a player, so, want to play for me? Oh, hey look a Clay Matthews commercial, yeah, I coached that guy too."

But Mark would be facing the Big10 teams instead of SEC.

Your undefeated regular season records are lining up at the door.

Yeah. If he goes 7-5 at Georgia, I'd rather take a gamble on someone else.

If Nebraska can get some talent and stock pile it we could run the bigten

Richts gets exposed coaching wise bc we talent is even coaching and scheme is the tie breaker

But in bigten richt would only lose to maybe osu/mich that days of losing to woeful team would be over.

I'll be honest bo will never stock pile enough talent so it will fall on coaching and honestly that is what i question bc there is a big disconnect. Bo rather have someone that has been there longer in his system but doesn't make plays compare to gambling with younger talent. Offense will be fine beck is holding his side up but defenders aren't flocking to Bo like we thought they would and bo already has said he doesn't like to play freshman so top phenom aren't thinking about us.

So yeah why not roll the dice with richt can't do worse

Nebraska lost to Georgia.

So?

The quality of player that Georgia gets is better than Nebraska. Richt underachieves and I wouldn't want him coaching the Huskers.

Underachiever SEC Wise but he would do work in the bigten . I get your point but I don't think he would do worse than Bo 9-4 and with the new division we would be a lock for title game

It's all relevant.

His quality of athlete would go down @ Nebraska.

Richt record in last 5 years at Georgia

2008 (10-3)
2009 (6-7)
2010 (8-5)
2011 (10-4)
2012 (12-2)

Pelini record in last 5 years

2008 (9-4)
2009 (10-4)
2010 (10-4)
2011 (9-4)
2012 (10-4)

Richt has 7 more years experience all at the same school, same recruiting grounds..

I'd stick with Pelini and the potential to improve as he gains more experience.
