No, its not their shitty starting pitching, their crappy bullpen, their lack of clutch hitting or porous defense. It's the idiots in their front office.

Signing Josh Hamilton wasn't necessary just window dressing. They just needed to resign Greinke and Hunter along with revamping a pathetic bullpen. The Angels front office management is absolutely clueless. They don't seem to get the fact fans would rather watch a winning team than a team that has Josh Hamilton striking out three times a game. Feel sorry for Arte he has jackasses sailing a mighty expensive yacht.

Like I keep telling my maniac Angels fan buddy, if things are bad now, where will you be two yrs from now with Hamilton in Malibu drug rehab and Pujols DHing and hitting .220? You bet your franchise on two declining, fragile assholes. There is zero, I mean absolutely ZERO motivation for Pujols to play to his potential with how his contract is structured and Josh Hamilton is one MILF away from a weekend of blow and hookers in a Motel 6 in North Hollywood. The Angels are fucked for many years to come.

I feel like we are forgetting how the dodgers went all out to get Greinke... And Haren had a terrible season last year and does not look like he is improvign... So its not like they had great options... It would be one thing if this was a pitchers off season, and they did nothing... Who else was available?? They made a splash to show they were trying to improve by getting Hamilton... And there offense should be unstoppable with trout, trumbo, pujols and hamilton... but its not right now... they will win because of offense... But they sure are not as good as we thought they would be in the preseason...

They remind me of the Mets from a few years back, just going for names that are past their prime. Worst part is, when you sign these top tier free agents you're giving up picks, so when those free agents don't pan out, you're stuck with their contracts and don't have any help coming up through the system.

They hope they can keep picking up the biggest FA's and plugging them in and all will work well. You need chemistry and you need young hungry players. LAA has little of both.

Let's not forget that Pujols and/or Hamilton could very easily lead the league in SO, LOB and hitting into double plays. Scioscia is going to start thinking about the 5-hole for Hamilton soon, if he hasn't already.

Also, I haven't heard yet - are Angels fans booing Hamilton or did his recent HRs buy him some time? It's coming, that's for sure!

They didn't really address their immediate needs which were starting and relief pitching. Signing Blanton, Hanson and Vargas was like putting a band aid over
a cancer. They pretty much did nothing to fix the bullpen as well. They really didn't need another big bat. They did need an offensive upgrade at 3B but did nothing to solve that problem. Hamilton was just something to try and appease angry fans after last seasons miserable failure.

Why would you boo a $20MM+ guy who goes 0-4 and sees a total of 8 pitches? :laugh3:

I think the fans understand what the situation is with the Angels. They realize neither Pujols or Hamilton asked to come here and were simply seduced by the $$$$. I find it hard to be upset with the players when the actual problem lies with management. Lack of smart baseball people hurts a franchise and in the Angels case it's more like killing it.

A good example of that is one of the Angels on field coaches, Mike Butcher, he couldn't teach a bear to shit in the woods.

How's Tommy Hanson working out? He was the most hittable pitcher in the braves rotation last season.

In 2-3 years the LAA will be even worse. Hamilton Pujols and Wilson all with the terrible contracts.

I think i'd have to go with all of the above.

DING DING DING!

it is also the pitching too

Also this. The pitching is awful. But it kind of goes back to what he was saying. Too much emphasis on flashy signings, not enough substance.
