If the Yankees go to the postseason with this roster, it will change the way they do business in regards to monstrous contracts

Doesn't mean they won't tinker with the roster every offseason. But should they sign Cano at 10/200? Or fill out the roster with a few short term $8million dollar guys to replace his production?

Its not the popular move, but dont think for a second that Hal isn't noticing that Robbie as the premier star on that team now, is not filling seats in that stadium. You pay that contract with the expectation they will draw at the gate

Oh I agree with that ... but its a 2 part issue. I dont think Cano is a guy you can pay 10 / 200 for ... not saying anything about him right this second, he's a top 5 player. But im not a believer in him to be dominant for 6 or 7 years of a 10yr contract (because nobody ever produces the full 10)


The stadium seating statement is pretty interesting. But havent they had trouble filling the new stadium from the jump pretty much? I mean after the initial season in it?
