There's a case for him as best QB in the league. He certainly was this season. I'm in the "Rodgers is the best QB regardless" camp but for this season Cam was better. And no QB in the league would've won that game for Carolina last night. Cam was the best chance they had.

Having recievers is very important and brady is a great example of why. For one he has dion lewis, Julian edelman, Amendola, and arguably the biggest recieving threat in the league in gronk. When they started going down, brady started to struggle more.

He is incredibly talented. He has a CANNON that he is very accurate with. And he can absolutely read defenses. That's a very strange thing to say he can't or that he's not accurate.

The oft mentioned mediocre Kirk Cousins had a better completion percentage and threw for more yards than the ALL universe Newton. Mind you this is the mediocre QB Kirk Cousins. A cannon for an arm means jack shit if you over throw WRs on the regular. Ask Donavan McNabb.

Add in the fact that he took less sacks, threw a grand total of ONE more pick, and had less lost fumbles. Cam Newton is a RB who happens to be able to throw some times.

GK... no offense intended really. But when it comes to paying a player we have drafted, you tend to be a bit on the tight side. I understand WHY. Because you are always worried about the future cap implications. But if Kirk gets a franchise deal, it isnt because he is a proven veteran. Its because we believe he CAN become a better than average QB and its better ti pay him now, than pay him MORE later. Proven veterans tend to get over paid, guys like Kirk get paid because a team believes they CAN become those proven vets. Better to guarantee him $20 million now and $30 million over the next two season. Than to pay him $20 million for one season, and IF he DOES become that proven vet, then end up giving him another $30 million guaranteed and watch the numbers grow from there.

We are basically paying a bit more up front so we dont pay even more a year from now.

I tend to be on the tight side period. I would be more giving to our own players than I would another teams. If KC was coming from another team, I would be up in arms over giving him a deal worth 20million per season. Like I said, I won't complain too much if he gets that here because he was successful in this system. Systems matter.

I was all for paying RK over RAK because RK has been healthier in his career. He plays the run better than RAK. Was all for paying Trent and am all for paying Jordan Reed.

Now, even you have said something to this effect...you want to pay KC out of fear not out of talent or average. You simply believe there is a better chance of him hitting than a draft pick. Not that you are sold on him...I actually am sold on him.

I want them to pay KC because he IS one of our own and he IS the kind of player we need. Do I think he will become the next Bart Star? Probably not. But I will take the next Joe T. Minus the Im nailing anything with a pulse vibe. And yes I admit I dont think there is a QB in this draft worthy of a day one start. I would have paid Rak because he was one of our own, and I think it would have been better then the revolving door, lets keep drafting to save $1 million dollars and burn a couple of extra roster spots in the process. NOt that I was against paying RK, but I think it would have actually cost us less and helped the team more to keep them both.

and I am sold that he is the best QB for this team going forward for the next three years minimum.

A leader, especially at QB doesnt sulk after a loss. Fuck Russell Wilson threw the pick that LOST his team the Super Bowl. And he owned it. He didnt sit there and deflect. A team player again doesnt sit there and deflect and sulk talking that bullshit about well they just made more plays. He OWNs it and says things like, IM not going to blame my team.. I SHOULD have done better.

As for MVP... its a popularity context no more than the Pro Bowl and All Pro to an extent. Its based on individual performance more than any team aspect. Sure without his individual performance, the Panthers likely are not in the Super Bowl. But then again without his two sack fumbles, the Panthers likely win the Super Bowl as well. Man up, quit sulking like a five year old and be a leader when shit DIDNT go your way.

Lol sure if that's what you think bud. Not sure why you feel the need to get so upset because he didn't wanna talk much (his only offense) but you do you.

Mainly because he reminds me of some one we are soon to release. In play style, and personality. He reminds me of every player I have ever thought... physically talented.. but a cancer to what ever team he goes to. Great if the team is winning, a pain in the ass if they arent.

There actually isn't a case for him as the best QB in the league. Biggest weapon perhaps but not the best QB. Cam missed several passes last night that a good QB doesn't miss.

Last season was the first season Edellman became a threat and they won the SB. Is Edellman a threat or does the offense make him a threat. That offense hinges on Gronk.

Missing a couple of passes against a ridiculous defense is not very strong evidence for your case.

Edelmans good but yea that offense hinges on gronk. Which susupports my point. Brady has gronk and at least solid recievers.

Well I'm honestly sorry you see it that way. You're missing out on enjoying one of the truly great talents of the league.

I will say it like this. If you are the best, and every one knows it..... you dont have to constantly remind every one you are the best. Thats not arrogance, its insecurity. I can deal with arrogance, cause I admit Im an arrogant bastard. Insecurity to me is simply weakness pretending to be strength.

When was the last time you saw Jerry Rice walk to the plane wearing a pair of look at me pants??

Nah dude, you are missing the point. When you are the best, you dont need to tell everyone. Everyone tells you. As i mentioned before, and arrogant man knows he is the best, even if he is wrong. An insecure man reminds everyone he is the best, even if he is wrong. The pants are just a side effect of the look at me mentality.

I think the Broncos showed us that we picked the wrong Defense coordinator. I know you guys remember when we passed on Wade. This has always lingered in the back of my mind even before the season started. We choose passive Joe Barry. OUCH!!!!!!!!!

Can Cam survive without his legs?

Would Carolina win without that defense?

The answer to both questions is no. That is why he isn't the best QB in the league.

The system makes the WRs in NE along with the QB making line calls and throwing on time. Cam does neither.

Why because I would rather character over flashy?? Because I would take *Alfred Morris* over a Cam Newton?? Sorry if I would rather lose with dignity than win because we had an asshole on the roster. IF any of my sons ever thought Newton, or players of his kind were a role model... I would have to sadly kick their asses and remind them that fools like this give real black men a bad name.

Yes I corrected this to say Morris instead of Cousins. Because I didnt want one to think I was against flashy black QBs and would prefer a white QB. I would take a team player who doesnt have to remind everyone how he is the best over a Newton type any day.

Feel free to disagree. You don't have much of an argument by doing so. Without his legs, Cam is Jamarcus Russell or Jeff George. Without his defense, Carolina doesn't win the field position game and Cam doesn't convert as many third downs because the defense does not keep them in the game. Cam is 28th in the NFL in completion percentage and that is with his leg threat opening up holes that don't exist for other QBs.

This is just so incredibly wrong that it's amazing.
