It's and IDP full keeper league where LBs get 2 pts per tackle so they hold a bit more value in this league and you keep 40 players. start 1 QB, 2RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 2 DEs, 1 DT, 2 OLBs, 2 ILB, 2 Corners, 2 Safeties. Which side would you choose to get? And let me say thanks to all of you cause I really value and trust you experts opinion on my trades.

Side A gets:

Aaron Rodgers
Charles Clay
Danny Woodhead
Tannehill
Chad Greenway

Side B gets:

Tony Romo
Jason Witten
Marshawn Lynch
Toby Gerhart
Mike Glennon

Pick one side please.

Thanks

I like Team B. Two starting RB (and one of them is Lynch) and very serviceable QB in Romo give that team the nod.

I'll take side B. Sure, it's a lot of vets, but other than A-Rodge (who's great I understand), the other side doesn't look attractive to me long term, so why take the hit in the short term? Greenway does not float the needle to even, IMO.

I am side b guys and I do need an OLB badly (every LB is gone even guys like Connor Barwin lol) and greenway would fit the bill nicely. I would be leaving myself thin at RB but i have Chris Johnson, Lamar Miller, and Andre Williams plus todman and rainey and asiasta(?) from MIN. I have Anonio Gates so losing Witten might not be too bad unless you the gates is finished. Even though I'd be taking a short term hit at RB having a top QB like Rodgers who is only 30 means I'll have him for maybe 8 more years and that is very appealing. But if you guys think it is way off I will restrain from hitting the except button on this one!

Hmmm. Greenway is a quality LB, but I wonder how the loss of Jared Allen might affect his production (Chef?). And IDP can be more fluid than other offensive skill positions, meaning that last year's standout LB may not have the same success.

As for Gates, his fantasy stock seems to be falling each week as many see Green as his replacement. On the flip-side, I've read that the Boys want to transition to Escobar as well. But it could be all "talk" until it actually happens.

I know you like Miller, but he really hasn't proven anything yet, so while he may have a high ceiling, he's still in the cellar figuratively speaking. And the rest of your RB are deep backups whose only opportunity may come only because of an injury.

Rodgers is good. Very good. But he also takes a beating too. Since taking over for Favre, he's been sacked a massive 223 times in 6 seasons. Not sure he'll last 8 more seasons at that rate.

Maybe I'm smoking something, but it seems to me like two years from now Lynch, Witten, Gerhart and Glennon will all be fantasy has-beens.

They're pretty valuable this year, though.

I think you may be right, but I will take the has beens over the never was guys.

There are so many decent LBs that emerge, you should not trade any meaningful piece to acquire one.

Oh shit Foot, I just read this: You really can't afford to lose Lynch even if he is good for only 2-3 more years. When is your rookie draft?

and you keep 40 players

This is the part that jumps out at me. Gates, Witten, CJ1K and Lynch may not be long for the NFL, so I see doom coming for Foot at RB and TE in the next years if he doesn't do something. Andre Williams and Lamar Miller may pan out, but that's still pretty thin.

What RBs does the other guy have?

And how old is this league?

This deal does little to address those issues. Now may be the perfect time to trade Lynch, but doing so just might cost you a chance at a title this year.

Good points guys,

Joe I am worried about Escobar a bit too and Green does look like he is going to cut into Gates production so I figure they may be about evenish no matter who I start maybe slight edge to Witten cause they will have to pass.

Sam - Our rookie draft is around late august but we drafted the first round all ready right after the NFL draft guess the NFL draft got us going, lol. It's the first time we ever did that. Very suicide like.

These rooks are gone!

1. Sammy Watkins - mine
2. Khalil Mack
3. Mike Evans
4. Biship Sankey
5. CJ Mosley
6. Ryan Shazier
7. Brandon Cooks
8. Jadeveon Clowney - mine
9. Carlos Hyde
10. Anthony Barr
11. Eric Ebron
12. Andre Williams - mine

I love Andre Williams he ran for over 2,000 yards and if you look at the list of about 14 or so guys that did that about half of them were absolute studs at the next level. Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Forte, Rice, Ladanian Tomlinson, Ricky Williams, Larry Johnson. Plus I love the tape I seen on Williams, he is a smash mouth tackle breaker with 4.5 speed and i think the Giants really want him to be the every down guy, just my opinion and felt i should explain cause some might think that pick was a reach. would love thoughts on williams if you guys get a chance!

the rest of the draft will take place in Aug.

Wil - this will be the third year and we all love it. We never stop talking trade/football, it's great I highly recommend it if you can find 10/12 die hard guys you know who can commit 5/10 years. We didn't set an exact amount of years but you have guys who drafted all rookies the first year like Luck was one of them who know they would loose the first year but wanted to build a young power house for years. The strategies are different cause youth is huge, it's just been the most fun and I recommend it to everyone, IDP too. I was gonna suggest we all do it but figured it might be too much to organize.

To answer your other question the other guy has Charles, Ellington, Bryce Brown and I think that's it otherwise he would never think of moving Rodgers for this, in my opinion.

Tlance thats a great point and why I am unsure cause i believe I have real shot at the title. the fitst two years I came one game away from the superbowl and I think I made some trades that will put me over the hump so i am weighing all these things and am greatful to have you guys to help me make this call.

So what do you guys think should I just stand pat with my Romo side or take the hit now for a brighter QB future later. I was eye balling Manziel since every other starting QB is owned all ready and Romo might not have too many years left. But if i get Rodgers I wont have to spend a high pick on Manzel. I am really on the fence myself I don't love the deal but i don't hate it either I guess i could take or leave it unless you guys see a reason to take the deal. Thanks

I don't think you are getting nearly enough back to make this deal.

Rodgers is no spring chicken either. Sure, he is better and should have more longevity than Romo, but stranger things have happened. If Rodgers were 24, I might change my stance, but not now.

What pick do you have in the second round?

I am not a huge believer in Manziel, but as a second round pick, that is pretty awesome value.
