What should/will be the NFL opener next season?

I know it's early and so many pieces could be moved around by then. But this is just to kill some time lol. And since we know the Pats are playing the NFC East and AFC South next season, here are my 3 possible matchups and why.....

1. Cowboys

Revis? Vs Bryant
SportsHoopla Hate Bowl 2
Playoff team
TxHeat lol
Espn would be eating this up.

2. Colts

Deflategate..... Enough said.


3. (My darkhorse pick) Giants

Defending champs vs Their Kryptonite
Revis? Vs Beckham
Have owned the Pats since the last game of the 07 regular season, where they went 16-0.

What do you guys think?

First, it will be a home game. The Super Bowl winner from the previous season has to raise the banner, et al.


Not 100% sure how the league actually determines dates, but I'd guess as follows:


1. Pittsburgh - Long standing rivalry.
2. Philadelphia - Kelly and Belichick "Coaches Duel".
3. Indianapolis - Deflategate

It won't be Dallas because that game is here. I'm figuring that will be the Thanksgiving Day game. I hope not though because I want to go to that game but not on the holiday.

Considering these are the choices:
Buffalo, Miami, NY Jets, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Washington, Pittsburgh

I would think Pittsburgh or Philadelphia. Obviously it won't be Jets, TN, Jax or Washington.

Opening day = pats will be hosting the team that gets revis (buff. Or jets).....hopefully revis stays for a try at a second ring (don't hold your breath),.......the ideal matchup would be ones of those "canary" teams = colts, Ravens .....?!,......R.I.P/Ed Sabol.

The Indy game is away and the Ratbirds are not the regular season schedule so those two are not options.
