NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Arthur Smith informed the University of North Carolina he is not a candidate for their head coaching vacancy.
Smith had a “preliminary call” with UNC after they let go of head coach Mack Brown. Smith attended UNC and spent a year on the staff as a graduate assistant before making his way to the NFL, making it a natural fit. He is currently reviving Russell Wilson’s career as the Steelers’ play-caller and will get some consideration for NFL head coaching vacancies in the offseason. Even if he doesn’t get a new job this time around, Smith is one more good season away from a full image rehab and a second shot as a team’s boss.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson “might have some interest” in the Bears’ head coaching vacancy.
Schefter is playing coy with a connection that has been made for months. The Bears, fresh off firing Matt Eberflus midseason, are in the market for a new head coach. Johnson, in turn, will be the hottest name this hiring cycle. Chicago has No. 1 overall pick Caleb William and an elite cast of pass-catchers on offense plus a dominant defense on the other side of the ball. It’s undoubtedly one of the best head coaching vacancies in recent memory. Johnson pulled out of the head coaching carousel last offseason to stay with the Lions and has the offense firing on all cylinders through three months. Detroit ranks first in points per game and second in yards per game as of Week 12. If Johnson can land the plane with a postseason run, he will have multiple opportunities to lead a team next year.
I’ve heard that’s the job he wanted last year also

Vrabel to Cowboys would be scary af. He can coach and has a great defensive mind.

I don't know about BB to Jacksonville. I could see him going to the Bengals over any other club.

Why would anyone give Kingsbury a HC job?
Vrabel is on my very short list of new HCs for Cowboys. :suds:
