I think the GM is safe, at least for another year. Poles has done a decent job of turning over the roster and gathering some real talent on this team. But pretty much everyone in Bears land agrees that Eberflus has to go. The only question left is how soon.

Thats probably the right call.

Bears are 3rd in turnover differential and the least clutch team in football right now. Eberflus is a coordinator not a Head Coach. Bears have maneuvered a full rebuild about as well as any team in recent memory.

I think when he came out & defended the dumbest thing seen in a long time. He signed his death warrant. This couldnt be blamed on bad luck. Defending that showed his lack of skill as a HC. Which removed any & all other excuses that could be afforded a young HC. He literally got himself fired.

That seems like the key point in all of this. Chicago can stay in games, 3 close losses in a row. Playcalling is there. The team has enough talent to be a playoff team THIS YEAR but poor coaching, situational blunders is why they are where they are and that is on the head coach. He he is a coordinator, not a HC…at least at this point in his career
