fall out of the playoffs again? They were looking good for a while but have not looked good the last few games. Two years is a row = not good.

Do you guy's and gal's think they would do some major retooling?

I know it's not over yet but just looking for some opinions.

The only opinion I have right now is I would like the Devils to atleast get the opportunity to knock them out

I dont think they make it this year... Just too inconsistent. Even if they do, prolly get knocked out in the first round. I think the Sabres and Canes are much more hungry for post season play, it shows.

I would be really pissed. But to put it into perspective they are a young team and weren't even expected to make the playoffs at all. I don't think they would make too many changes, I think Torts is the guy they want coaching this team and I liked how he has handled the young players this year. And as much as I hate Sather he's actually not made any horrible moves this season that can't be fixed in the offseason.

Thanks, Do you know what the status of Drury's contract is and do you think for the money they will keep him around?

While this could be true I doubt many of the teams are hoping to draw them in the first round.

I don't really know the specifics of his contract, I've heard a lot of people say he might go the Naslund route and just retire in the offseason.

In all honesty, its the same story for a decade now, the Rangers need to get rid of Sather. Aside from the bigger blunders (Gomez/Drury max contracts), this team just has no personality. There doesn't seem to be any real sense of direction in terms of what type of team they are trying to build. Are they defensive? Offensive? Just a weird assortment of players. They need a GM with a real gameplan and blueprint.

As an "outsider" that seems like a good analysis. You never know what to expect from the Rangers they are so up and down. They play great defense at times and have trouble scoring or get blown out.

I am just looking for objective opinions esp from Ranger fans and have no dog in this fight but have received some good feed back from Rangers fans.

Thanks.

4 games left and a 3 point lead. They better play their best hockey or that's it for Tort.

I know they're a young team but they have playoff talent on the ice. To be in the top 8 all season long and slowly drop out of it is unacceptable.

I think it's hard to blame Torts. Without Lundqvist that team is a top 4 in the lottery. They play hard but RIGHT NOW there just isn't enough talent to contend.

They'll probably make the playoffs though. Lundqvist will terrify any 7 or 8 seed that they face.... LOL.

Goalies are awesome.

Man, the Rags have a rough last 4 games though. 3 point lead is nice, but if Carolina and Buffalo win out, the Rags need 3 wins to secure it or 2-0-1, something like that. However, they end the year with Philly, Boston, Atlanta, and NJ. Two really tough teams, and two trying to play upset.

Buffalo and Carolina play Sunday and that should be a great game. But rules out the "win out scenerio"

BTW, Kudo's to the Leafs the have played their asses off even though making the playoffs is not mathematically impossible highly unlikely.

Montreal and the Rangers look like they are wilting before our eye's.

Rangers are in the top 10 when it comes to shots against / game. Now I know Hank is one hell of a goaltender but their D has been terrific when it comes to blocking shots.

Someone has to take the blame if they fail to make the playoffs again. I never liked Tort anyway so let him fall.

Them wilting is why I'm okay with them making the playoffs...I'm pretty sure my team won't face them, but I'm pretty sure they'll be early exits. Normally you don't limp into the postseason to have success.
