I'd be more curious to know how long a coach can last at a blue blood school like UT (or one of the others) without winning a Natty? If he is constantly getting 10 win seasons, maybe some playoff appearances, but just never gets to the top.
In my lifetime, the coaches with the longest tenures at top 8 “blue bloods” without winning NCs were
1. Bo Schembechler
2. Fred Akers
3. John Cooper
Tom Osborne was at NU 20 years prior to winning his first NC, so he would be 2nd if including him.
bowden was gifted his first championship. and barely won a 2nd
My Lexus gets 22 MPG.
Or “forced to resign forsexual assault charges from kissing his players gone to far”.Not enough choices imo.
Where is “forced into retirement from severe case of mono from kissing his players”...?
He’s ducking them. He worsened his SoS by playing weak SEC teams.Depends on whether he has to play Maryland again.
Well, you just got scratched off Tom Herman's Christmas Card list, bucko. In general, coaches are frequently fired and rarely win nattys, so I went with fired as the more likely outcome.
Which happens first? Saban fired or Bama Nat'l Championship? I say a Bama title, even though we haven't won one in a year.Which happens first? Lincoln Riley Fired, or Sooner Nat'l Championship?
Which happens first? Ryan Day Fired, or Buckeye Nat'l Championship?
Which happens first? Scott Frots Fired, or Cornhusker Nat'l Championship?
or
Which happens first? (Fill in the coach's name) Fired, or (Fill in the Blue Blood name) Nat'l Championship?
