The best thing about burgers is the variety.

I'll cook them with bourbon

bacon and cheese

chopped onion and cole slaw

jalapenos

chili

applesauce

You never need to eat the same thing twice in a row....

All of the above..There's no limitation to what i'll put on a burger.

same here...to me, that's what makes burgers great...the variety.

but if I have a go to burger, it would be grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, pepperjack cheese and some A1/BBQ type sauce

I'll usually either marinate the beef with Worcestershire sauce or mix in some BBQ sauce with the ground beef. For toppings I like onions, peppers, any kind of cheese (I prefer sharp cheddar or American though), tomatoes, lettuce, and ketchup.

Tony's, pepper jack spicy mustard and garlic salt…occasionally make shroom&swiss

I will do ketchup but just dip in it on side. Why, because it is there on the plate for fries.

I'll put anything that's available on a burger (or a dog) with one exception: I don't care for onions.

To the dude what said Frank's red hot sauce: thank you.

The usual go-to: season the meat with pepper the top with ketchup, cheese (American and/or cheddar), lettuce.

I like to experiment sometimes. Queso cheese + salsa, avocado + bacon, a fried egg (strangely good on a burger), blue cheese, tomato + balsamic + mozzarella, etc. That's the best thing about burgers; they're so versatile.

It depends what kind of burger I am in the mood for, but I mostly go for what Wendy's put on their Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger.

bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, mayo

If I don't have a lot of stuff to put on it, then ketchup, pickles, cheese.

Lettuce
Tomato
Red Onion
Cheese - Any type will do but, I prefer provolone or pepper jack
Avacado
Chipotle Mayo

There is no good chipotle mayo in the stores where I live so I make mine homemade. Toss some mayo, chipotle peppers (which come in a small can in adobo sauce), cilantro and some lime juice in the processor.

I'm surprised as to how 'American Cheese' is still a 'staple' in America. I'm always goin' Provolone, Pepper Jack, Cooper Sharp, etc.... nuthin' worldly - but I like the taste over what I think is 'bland' in American Cheese.

Just a comment, eat what cha like I say. Well, Velveeta? (sic) ...I ain't goin' there.
