Here is the thing though - It's not the police stopping Americans and asking for papers. It is the United States Boarder Patrol stopping everyone long enough to see if they are americans or other. If they determine that the person is not a US citizen, then they investigate further. It might be an inconvenience to some, but the same "PROUT PATRIOTIC AMERICANS" are the same dumbasses bitching and whining about Mexicans getting free healthcare and jobs in California and Texas. They will also be the same shitheads blaming Obama if one of them were to go down and bomb the Arco Tower in Downtown Los Angeles and kill a few thousand americans. I have done insurance work in San Diego many times and the boarder patrol is about 60 miles north of the boarder and they do good work. They slow down the traffic and watch them go through. Some times they stop traffic long enough to stop each person and they can tell when human traffic is being smuggled through. They are doing their job and they are doing a good job - and their job is to protect American citizens. Only a criminal would object

Again - I don't have a problem with the checkpoints - the check points stop a lot of dangerous criminals from coming into the United States and it is legal - you are ignorant of federal law and you're full of shit - the constitution was not suspended.
