I am so tired of this myth, we wear shirts putting down sPitt and get called out for it, yet look at the shirts FSU fans wear at Miami games. We supposedly brutalize fans of other schools on the way to the stadium, wear an opponents colors and walk down Woody Hayes Drive and see the response, I was wearing a WVU shirt to the game the last time Marshall played here and got an earful, hit, called stupid inbred, etc. Go to Blacksburg and wear a WVU shirt. IF you go to ANY away game in ANY stadium, you will heat some trash talk, you will see some off color shirts. WVU fans are no better or worse than any others. If you go to an away game, grow some thicker skin.:omg:

The article is actually a compliment. Our fans do research and call out players. You want a certain hostility toward the visiting team. When it came to fans traveling to the game, the article had no complaints.

It is a different type of rude than dumping beer VT, tackling fans MD, we get into the players heads. I like that.

Reminds me of Shaffer the kicker from Syracuse in the 80s. After he blew a tackle on a kickoff TD run us students started chanting Shaffer,Shaffer,Shaffer for three quarters. You could tell it bothered him and he missed the winning field goal chance.

Be Rude Mountaineers

I don't see this as a bad thing. Even the OK players were impressed with the level of harassment our fans are sending their way. If it were OK fans complaining about treatment in the stands or post-game trying to leave - that would be different.

"The fans are disrespectful," Ndulue said. "Those are great fans. They're backing up their team and they'll do whatever they can to get in your head."

"They had a great crowd and I didn't notice anything, anyone hollering anything different than what we normally get hollered at us," Stoops said with a chuckle. "I don't pay much attention to that."

This is complimentary. I have no qualms with a crowd that gets after it. That chuckle from Stoops lets you know they live for situations like that. This is going to be an EPIC game!

"The fans are disrespectful," Ndulue said. "Those are great fans.

Not sure how many of you watched The Chapelle Show but this reminds me of the Rick James skit that he did with Charlie and Eddie Murphy. This was what Rick James said after he got on Eddie's new suede couch and intentionally rubbed his muddy boots on it.

RICK JAMES: “See, I never just did things just to do them. Come on, what am I gonna do? Just all of a sudden jump up and grind my feet on somebody’s couch like it’s something to do? Come on. I had a little more sense than that. [short pause] Yeah, I remember grinding my feet on Eddie’s couch.”,

Hope this gives a few of you guys a chuckle or two! :pound:
