QB's don't really show their mettle until they've been in the league a few years.

This post is repped by RGIII, Colin Krapernick, Johnny Football, Kirk Cousins, Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez and so on, and so on, and so on....

It's pretty obvious if you look around the league and see all the rookie QB's having success they have good offensive coaches and support. We do not. I'm sure Goff would be fine if he was on Dallas, Denver or the Pats

He played great. Didn't see the game, so I'm judging by stats. What happened to the Steelers, lol?

Was being sarcastic, and of course tryingto bust Cougs balls, can't help it, he makes it to easy!

So, thought this topic might be an interesting discussion now that both QB's are playing well and both teams are at top in NFC.

Does anyone think the Rams should've still taken Wentz over Goff, or has Goff's play this season changed your mind?

Personally, I think it's about a wash. Wentz offers a bit more with his ability to scramble, so you could argue that gives him an edge.

Maybe the answer will come in 2 weeks when they play each other.

What are your guys thoughts 1 1/2 years later?

Well, what if we took Wentz, he came in played well and saved the job of "Colonel Mustache"??? He might still be here and we'd still be mired in mediocrity or worse...

I'm happy with the way things are :suds:

Lol

Wentz looks good. Kid is tough and he can scramble.

Goff had a helluva game yesterday though.

Back in that draft, I think we were all pissed off when the trade happened(Even V-Mike):pound:

But after the trade, I wanted Wentz, because he was bigger, mobile and more NFL ready! I didn't really think that Goff could pull it off on such a bad team! Because we have already been through this before with a #1 pick Qb, (whose name I cant mention)! We would be setting the kid up for failure with no supporting cast!

But our new coaching staff saw what we had and prevented this from happening.

By the way... What in the Hell happened to COOGIE? ...I wanted to hear his take on Goff's success! :pop2:

I wanted Deshaun Watson 2 years ago. We are who we are now. The Rams did really good in the draft this year even without a first rounder so that Trade really doesn't bother me now.

Some people, myself a littl, were disappointed that we passed on Hundley. No reason to be disappointed anymore.

Looks like we couldn’t go wrong on any of those choices.

I like Hundley. I think you need to understand that GB offense was built for Aaron Rodgers and it's alot like the Patriots pass first, run second offense. How often to they even run the ball and do they even have a legit RB? I haven't watched alot of GB, but I think in the right system Hundley could be good. Great? It's early

I'd rather have Hundley than Mannion. Both 3rd round picks

Sad part is, he's actually got his body turned that direction, but he is looking straight ahead which is bizarre.

Easy TD for sure

I think Mannion fits the system better than Hundley would.

You see him struggling with an offense that is geared toward Rodgers.

I think he needs to be in an offense much like what Houston has for Watson, maybe Seattle, something along those lines because he's not going to be just a pocket passer. That's not who he is.

I am surprised he doesn't know the offense better considering he's been there long enough. Even though it's not geared toward him, he should be able to execute the offense better than he had shown

I am with the prevailing sentiments on this thread. I wanted Wentz as well but now I like what has transpired with McVay and company and the talent they brought to the Rams and the development of Goff by McVay and others. Goff now has developed to the point of being damn good and a franchise QB and he now has all the weapons to be successful. Philly BTW has followed suit by picking up Ajayi which was one of their weaknesses.

Well, the Rams Alstott version, SJ76, is on the PS. Sam Rogers is 5-10, 235lbs (probably heavier now that he isn't playing but just practicing). Mike Alstott was what, 6'1" and 248lbs?

Be nice to have that "rammer" RB as John Gruden calls it. 2-3 yards from the goalline and punch it in + just beat down a defense with. Defenses are about to get tougher and hit harder here soon.

This ain't the GSOT yet but I do like where our D is headed too :heh:
