According to Spotrac Wentz is already guaranteed $15M of the $28.2M+ he is scheduled to earn in 2022. $12M of the remaining $13.2M+ guarantees on March 18 2022. The only reason to cut him would be if he wasn't worth $13.2M+. I would have thought he was worth more than $13.2M to a several teams. If so he could be traded for a negligible pick with the new team paying $13-20M depending on what they agree with the Colts and the Colts paying the excess to make up the $28.2M +. It's a bad situation for the Colts, but it's their own fault for acquiring such a high risk contract. The Eagles made out like bandits.
