Considering Tom Osborne's past hires and pedigre we now know who the next men's basketball coach is going to be. It will be Erik Strickland. The sad thing is that I am not joking.

Erstad was ready to be a head coach...........it was a good hire. But trying to compare this situation to the baseball situation is a complete joke.

Erick Strickland isn't ready to coach a Junior College basketball team right now, let alone a BCS school.

This is the guy that forced the hand to get Solich hired and most Husker fans think that sucked. He also endorsed the hiring of Stevie P. how did that work? Hires 2 inexperienced head coaches in Bo and Erstad. The jury is obviously out on Erstad and still out in my opinion on Bo. Where is the track record for confidence in his hires?

lol.......Jed doesn't watch or care about Nebraska basketball. He's just still hung up on the Erstad hiring, so he's using this Strickland opportunity to make his point about how Tom Osborne is senile and has no idea how to direct an Athletic Department.

The point is moot though.......because Strickland will never be the head coach at Nebraska.

Would it not be more fair to say Erstad is working for peanuts and using that extra money to get those assistants? Seems I remember reading something about that? Let's be fair, I'm betting that those assistants are making more money than any of the previous assistants by a bunch. I didn't look shit up, just going by stories back when the hire was made. Let's give credit where credit is due if so, instead of slanting it as crusty old cheapskate AD goes with the bargain hire. Because that seems to be a pretty popular stone throw with some of the fan base.
