to be totally honest, while the you-know-who's are annoying and do suck me in sometimes (not that i should say anything, since i can be obnxious at times too), but overall, i am just more and more jaded with **** in general.

they just totally get it wrong over there. i can't remember the last time i watched sportscenter, i hardly ever watch unless my team is playing, i don't watch any of their "analysis" shows. their hockey coverage is a joke. anything i read just makes me shake my head. they really have bought into the concept that provocative opinion is more important than good journalism.

there are some ok analysts, but overall, the whole corporation is a bunch of blowhard talking heads who write stupid editorial after stupid editorial.

I agree and posted something similar to this over there a few weeks back. It got pulled and I got a one day ban. I watch College Gameday and their college football coverage and that is about it. Their radio lineup is even worse. How canned and contrived can you be?

I wish that Fox Sports or Versus or someone would step up and challenge them on a full time basis. I feel like people are itching to jump off that boat soon.

every time i posted there i felt like such a hypocrite because i was really starting to hate **** so much.

i haven't found a way yet to totally avoid it, but hoping someday i will.

the wierd thing is, i actually don't mind disney so much, even though they're the parent company and are resonsible for ruining ****. at least disney, as smarmy as they are, are a ***little bit*** more straightforward in their "trying to sell you something" approach.

I'm with you here. I used to watch SportsCenter religiously, but I rarely watch it now. And as far as "analysis" shows go...I don't think there are any. For some reason, the four-letter thinks analysts must disagree, so someone HAS to take a ridiculous opinion and then they just argue back and forth with no real analysis. It appeals to the masses, though, so I guess the rest of us are just screwed.

Johnny, I think you were the one that was discussing in a thread one time (and I joined in) about how there is no responsible, "just-plain-facts" journalism anymore? Everything is sensationalism, and every analyst, it seems, is sitting there waiting for the next scandal. It's ridiculous.

However, Pittsburgh's regional media isn't any better. This whole Big Ben thing has shown that. It's basically a he-said, she-said, and no one really knows the story. Doesn't stop dumbass media from trying to sway public opinion one way or the other. I am sick to death of "reporting" that ignores the facts OR the absence of facts.

Allow me to wax poetic here and say I knew there was a reason I kept hanging around the General board despite all the trolling lunacy. I could see that there was a quality core of people that gave that board a pulse, and now that most of us are here, it has never been more apparent.
