Free safety Xavier Woods suffered a high ankle injury Sunday at Washington and is availability for this week’s game against Miami is in doubt, according to sources. He was hurt on the final series. If Woods can’t play, then Darian Thompson could move into the starting lineup with rookie Donovan Wilson being active for the first time this season. Thompson played mostly a special teams’ role for the Cowboys last season but had a solid training camp before suffering an ankle injury in a preseason game.

I thought thornhill would be the pick. Was surprised,but cowboys dont value safties. I do think Wilson can help back there,but really not sure if he will be ready to go. At least the cowboys basically have a "bye" week. The dolphins are atrocious. Cowboys may be forced to use a corner at FS. My gut tells me they move health to FS and Frazier to SS. Good thing Brees is out.

Yeah on Ramsey, I can't stand him either. Here's an interesting angle on that one. Let's say we trade for him (not if it costs two #1's of course) and use money we were going to give to Byron Jones to him and let Byron go after the year. I would not do it myself because I am a big fan of Jones and don't like loudmouths like Ramsey, but I think we could make it work if we wanted to and he is a superstar. If it cost a 1st and a 3rd we would get the 3rd back as a comp pick for Jones so it would only cost us a 1st.

To be clear, me too. I thought about it after reading a quote from Jerry where he said if there were a Deion or Charles Haley out there he wouldn't hesitate to go get them.

I'm just pointing out it could work within the cap and from a cost perspective. I love the players on this team. Most of them put the team first and we have very few guys that don't. Elliott would have crossed that line if he missed a game, but he didn't. Say what you want about Garrett, but his fingerprints are all over this team with regards to the "right kind of guy". It's why guys like Witten (he of the two TDs already) and Sean Lee are still here and why our cornerstones are guys like Dak, Jaylon and LVE. Just high character guys.
