Makes sense. Rubin had offers from SF and Denver and the choice should be easy. ;)

Rubin was pretty decent for Seattle. Axed because Sheldon Richardson became available when the Jets needed a WR.

Wonder who we will cut off the PS. That would give us two DT's on the PS with Peko and Jarrett.

Reportedly this signing is due to Jared Crick having surgery scheduled on his back. Team will put him on IR... This might mean not waiving Jarrett after all

Ahhh for real?

Yesterday VJ said Crick did not practice but didn't have a setback. That's a lot of NT's on the roster though. 3 on the active roster, 1 on the PS? Peko isn't healthy which is why he is on the PS over Jarrett right now to my understanding.

I really can't wait for this game to unfold.

How the Broncos play this game - against a talented opponent - whose strengths (the run game) - lines up nicely with the Bronco's depth and talent thin Dline. Dak Prescott is the QB we all hoped Lynch would be by now. Zeke behind the this Oline - is a lethal combination.

Here comes our young heroes the Denver Broncos with the QB certified off the college trash heap 3 years ago. An unproven Oline and a rush defense with as many guys on the injury report as there ready to play. You beat these Denver Broncos by stuffing the run and going after Siemian on passing downs.

Here's where we see what Vance Joseph brings to the table in devising a game plan and bringing the troops to an emotional pitch to play and execute. Except for the game being in Denver - every other factor in this game - goes to Dallas.

I believe the Broncos will win this game. I believe that if VJ is what he is cracked up to be - he will rise to the occasion and bring this team with him. VJ is audacious enough to take chances - I will be looking for him to take some chances in this one. It is also on Siemian - the Broncos will have to pass on run downs and use play action effectively - they will need to get the ball to the 2nd level and there Dallas is weak.

It has been an incredibly busy week and I've not had much time to comment. That's a shame too because it's always fun when the Broncos play the Cowboys. Two heavyweights (in terms of overall popularity and success of these franchises) squaring off like this is always good theater.

The Cowboys seem to be prohibitive favorites. I've only today had a chance to scan some of the predictions and analysis of this one and most seem to think the Cowboys take it. I've seen a few predictions of a Broncos upset win, and a lot of nods to the Broncos home field advantage. I've also heard a prediction there would be a lot of Cowboys fans in the stands, and I'll believe that when I see it. The Broncos fans defend the home turf from invading fans as good as anyone.

My pick for the game is the Broncos win 31-23. That may raise a few eyebrows but the way I see it, the Broncos looked pretty good against a defense that may not have be as good overall as the Cowboys, but has elements that tested the Broncos weaknesses more than the Cowboys D will be able to. I think the O-line is going to have a solid showing this week. Also, I think the team works to avoid the meltdown they suffered on Monday. If this offense gives us 4 quarters of play then cracking 30 isn't far-fetched at all. Especially if the defense can force a turnover and give the offense a short field to work with. I also think the Cowboys offense is going to a significant challenge for our defense, but I obviously don't see them coming into Denver and running and throwing all over us. You can make the argument this is the best defense Prescott has seen in his short career and while he is a highly capable QB, a lot of highly accomplished QBs have looked awful against this defense.

Between now and the game I am going to be fighting in a Judo tournament. Wish me luck!

We lose 34-13. Run defense is porous, Zeke beats us like a drum over the middle, Dak escapes the one man pass rush.

I think it's going to be hard for teams to score on this defense in Denver. On the three scoring drives for the Chargers, 1 the longest play was a 40 PI on an incomplete 3rd down and the other 2 were short fields off of turnovers (1 of which shouldn't have been a turnover but a PI or at least holding and automatic 1st down for the Broncos). Granted we have just one game as a sample and the consensus is the Cowboys will be a far better running team than the Chargers. With that said the Chargers are a far better passing team than the Cowboys and did just fine. They'll be able to play man the entire game in the secondary and load the box to limit what Elliot can do on the ground.

The other side to this is our offense has to have a good day at the office. They need to take their performance through 3 and extend it out for a 4th quarter. I'm convinced if the offense that showed up for 3/4 of that game is a more true indication of this team's potential in 2017, the sky is the limit for this Broncos team. At the same time a few untimely mistakes will give the Cowboys extra opportunities (like the Chargers got) and it'll be hard to put away a team as good as Dallas if we make those types of mistakes again.

You didn't get the memo, there is no pass interference on a pass behind line of scrimmage. :)

I'll have to review the rule but holding before the pass still applies. Maybe someone already has reviewed this rule?

I don't see a 3 day old NT, Jarrett, Peko, Gotsis or Harris stopping the best oline in football. Not to mention, despite the ultra aggressive offense we were promised, we are a run to set up the pass style, that takes long drives thru the country to reach the end zone.

It's weird, I've never felt this way about a bronco team before; like we are the ultimate paper tiger. Von had no pass rush last week to speak of, and Rivers is usually rattled by games end. Granted some poor calls made it closer than it should have been, but I just kept waiting for the shoe to drop.

Don't trust them as far as I can throw either Peko.

Here is my guess at the inactives...

Langly
Booker
Lynch
All 3 of these guys are listed as out for the game so easy choices.

Others will be
Jordan Taylor--The problem for him is he is not a big special teams contributor (all other WR's on the team are big time ST's guys other than DT and Sanders) and his position is mostly playing outside where the Broncos want to keep DT and Sanders.
Billy Turner--Sounds like Leary is a go again this week so he will probably see the bench.
Kyle Peko--Give him another week to get healthy and I just can't see us having 3 NT's active for this game.
Zaire Anderson--Maybe not the smartest move to have one of our ILB's inactive agianst such a good running team but just seems like everybody else serves a bigger purpose.

You did notice Von getting double and even triple teamed all game, right ? It's up to the others that are getting man on man to start making the plays. Until that starts happening ( Barrett for one ), Vons going to be dealing with those odds every game. Watch the game.

And that somehow negates my statement how? I didn't say why, or cite any reasons.

Von hasn't had a sack in 5 straight games mainly because he is tripled team. This lead to a number mismatch with our back 7 and SD WR/TE. This is why Phillip had 59 yards passing and their TEs had 1 catch through 3 qtrs.

On Sunday, hold Zeke to 85 yards or less and we should be in good shape.

Let's see.....you bitch ( which your very good at ) about Von having not having any sacks thus your whining about it. Read your own post Mr. Football savvy extraordinaire. Your better at cynical retorts and clever analogies. Stick with what you know . Just friendly advice.

I'd guess you're probably right about this. I'm less concerned about the total yards though than the yards per carry. If the game is close they're going to keep running the ball. If the Cowboys run the ball 35 times it's going to be hard to hold them below 100: Zeke and any of their RBs who spell him for a play here and there.

I'm not convinced they are going to come in and just run over us. I'm also not convinced we're going to shut them down entirely either.

I have hated the Cowboys - since they had some very lucky plays in the Super Bowl following the 1977 season. It is just my fate to have to live in Texas and read about them all the time.

We will see what is worse the Cowboys defense or the Bronco's offense.
