With our current injury situations ... every game is a toss up. We are still incredibly banged up at so many positions; we can win it "or" I can just as easily see the Giants running away with it at their place. Last week's game was an emotional win and it's very easy to have a let down game right after that even though it's pretty much a playoff game for us.

One thing I’ll say for Doug is that while he allows let down games too often earlier in the year....he’s proven to have them ready this time of year.

2017 and the underdog story.
2018 and he took an underachieving 9-7 team basically one minute and a few plays from making the NFCCG again.
2019 and turning it around from the Dolphins game to beating Dallas a few weeks later.

Who knows. The injuries may be too much. But I don’t see them losing because they let down spirit.

Apparently, Howard is playing while Ertz is not.
Maybe with Howard, Sanders, and Scott, they will run the ball more.

I think it leaves us options. Might not be the worse thing. Listening to a podcast yesterday and they were talking about the increase last week in moving Carson’s pocket and launch points, and also how he ran the ball more. It was examples of how they are down to trying to wring everything they can out of guys.

Way that read to me is that with the exact same personnel they would have just been giving more film to a possible playoff opponent. This way they might have pieces missing, but getting someone like Ertz back for a possible playoff creates more variables in what they can do. Strange fucking thing....but it could matter.

I think it makes sense. While the Giants are abysmal at pass D (creating the temptation to throw, unfortunately) they are also only 19th in run D. If you can mix it up right and get Sanders and Scott going it would make sense to keep Jones and Barkley off the field. If this can take us into to second half with any type of lead we could look to get Howard going in the third with the plan to grind them down to close the game.

My biggest fear!

It’s either going to be a 17-13 game or a 33-30 game. I don’t see much chance for in between.

Weather doesn’t seem it will be a factor.

Ertz now also dealing with a lacerated kidney ... dude's probably done for the year if we advance to the playoffs. It's the Dallas Goedert show for what remains of this season.

Yep. That must be what all the back injury talk was earlier in the week. That will shelve you for sure. It makes sense. He took that shot to the lower side and lower back area.

I'm thinking Eagles win this 24-20. Btw, any recommendation for the best cheesesteaks? I'll be traveling to Philly Thursday through the weekend. Staying in old city area. Get to see some family I have not seen quite some time. Last time my favorite was Tony Luke's. Any thing better? And Merry Christmas!
John's Roast Pork was amazing but they didn't have whiz. Sharp provolone for the win.

Yea, I unfortunately interpret the Rodgers signing as a sign that Ertz won't play versus the Giants, but we shall see. I have had broken ribs and they can be very painful, but if the ribs are not displaced, he may be able to play through the pain with padding.

On a positive note, Rodgers has spent a lot of time with Philly the past few years, through all the training camps and whatnot, and has decent chemistry with Wentz, so hopefully he can come in and contribute.

On Mikel, I find it a little odd that he did not get promoted too, but I think they see him as a slot guy and Ward has gotten more and more of those reps. Ward looks like a keeper for us, like Boston Scott at RB, that's a positive that has emerged.
I had a broken or dislocated rib once. It was absolutely awful. It was so much worse the next morning. The only think I ever had that compared was a cracked tailbone. Both made everything including breathing very difficult.

I would love a game without a lot of stress and nervousness. It would be nice to just sit back and enjoy - for once.
What are those like?

It very well cold be a high scoring game. The key is Saquon.
They need to do the same strategy as last week. Shut down the star running back and make the qb beat you. I don't know why they ever go away from that strategy against Dallas.

I broke three ribs a few years ago after falling while trying to change a ceiling light. It hurt like hell if I sneezed or coughed hard, but the ribs were still in place, and that apparently makes a huge difference. If Ertz still has the ribs in place, he may be able to come back by a wildcard game and play.

But if he suffered the lacerated kidney, yes he is probably done.

Apparently not with the kidney thing.

Ertz is way to valuable a player for our team, I don't want to see him again this year. It sucks but it's Dallas Goederts time to shine.

Glad to hear. BTW, I'm OK with Wiz, but real Philly guys prefer Provolone, or even American, not Wiz.
Glad you agree with John's!
