My buddy that works for ESPN told us that was in negotiations all week. It wasn't certain if he was gone in-season or after, but they were negotiating the buyout (or maybe figuring if they could fire for cause)

It was decided last weekend, but yes they needed more time to work out the details. Jen said they were still honoring his contract so not sure how that is going to play out. Wilner and others have been talking about it all week. It wasn't a surprise to anyone and I don't think they are many that didn't feel this change was necessary for the program.
