Seemed like it to me too.
But I'm no film guru nor do I know the actual assignments. Nor did I ever play football for that matter!
I do...stop teaching DB to play with their backs turned all of the time. I don't know when this foolishness started (and it's been a while) but there was a time that speedy back-peddling was as important to corner play as anything. So rare to see these days! OK, there's the set-up guys, fire away, but come correct because one thing that is and will always remain true....NO WR has ever caught a pass if the DB has possession of it! #Football-lite.
Gotta wonder if Jay and Scot are on the same page in terms of the team's identity. Feels like they are coming from 2 different angles entirely.
Beginning to really be a concern for me. Scot preaches a physical style and we are looking much more like a finesse team currently. Can't say I'm surprised by an opinion that says Gruden doesn't want to run the ball. If there is conflict. I hope it gets resolved.
Golden Tate would disagree with you. So would the replacement ref that called a GB INT a catch by Tate and a game winning Seattle TD.
Remember that?

And? What's his point? We should have forced longer passes into a deep soft zone and given up more INTs? It was clear that Pitt has no intention of letting us get that aspect of our passing game going and that they had no concern about our running the ball. It this complaint that we only pass short is not only wrong, its made by misinformed folks.
No! KC does not have to make things happen, that is not his forte and it usually leads to bad things like him forcing passes. KC needs to get the ball to others and let them make things happen.

The Shazier pic is a perfect example of the result of forcing the ball into a soft deep zone. I didn't see Davis, but the RB was also wide open in the flat and could have easily picked up the first. But that would have meant another "dump off" and the misinformed would have said that is all he can do.Just had to be patient about it. Vernon Davis was wide open from the moment he left the LOS on one play. A good pass allowing him to keep running and he scores an easy 56 yard TD. Instead KC forces a pass to a thrice surrounded Reed that Shazier picks.
Unfortunately Cuz had a severe case of tunnel vision and impatience.
KC blew the read on the pick. He didn't have to force it , Davis and garcon were open for TDSThe Shazier pic is a perfect example of the result of forcing the ball into a soft deep zone.
