I know its from the post (booooo) but interesting read none the less.

RGIII?s development is the No. 1 story line in the NFL this season, according to Trent Dilfer - The Washington Post

ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer managed to discuss Griffin’s development with Colin Cowherd on Monday without mentioning Kirk Cousins.

“RGIII maybe has gone to the Redskins and said, ‘I don’t want to be a running quarterback, I got hurt, I want to be a pocket guy,’” Cowherd said. “And now the Redskins are in a weird quandary, where he actually is a pretty good runner, but he doesn’t want to run as much. It seems this offense can’t figure out what to do with RGIII. I can’t figure out what they’re trying to do. Can you?”

“No,” Dilfer said. “I think you’re on to something here. Where I’m confused is, one, if he did go and say, I don’t want to be known as a running quarterback, why didn’t he go in and say I want to be known as a winning quarterback? To me, it’s too much about RGIII and not enough about the Washington Redskins. He should do whatever’s best to help his team win. And on that note, Jay Gruden’s calling plays and he’s making an effort — I saw them call six movement plays [against Houston], meaning getting RGIII outside his traditional launch point in the pocket. He called waggles, he called boots, he called misdirection counter-boots, he called naked boots. It was every effort to get RGIII comfortable outside of the pocket because he’s not comfortable inside the pocket yet. And that’s not the end of the world, you know what I mean? I think people go, to be great you have to be great from the pocket, and that’s true, but that could be four or five years from now.

is there any evidence to support these guys speculations ? any hard non CSI gueses?

they are talking about a mythical conversation that may have taken place when it is just as viable that gruden came in and said , RG3 , i am afraid you will get hurt so i want you to be in the pocket . in the end i can manage you like dalton .

that is my beef , the assumption always comes back to Rg3 being the asshole and somehow not being a teammate when the hard evidence (fucking socks aside ) is the opposite

to make Rg3 a pure pocket guy it could very well take 5 years . that is too long to wait . stop trying to kordel stewart the guy and go with the flow .

otherwise put KC in there and draft a pocket guy in the draft after fixing the o/line

Thats ALL you really need to know. Or would you defend his virginity against this observation as well??

and who made it that way ? cowherd and dilfer did

again the assumption is Rg3 is pulling the strings like he did last season, which was proven false , and now we are going to take more falsehoods and make them fact as well

DAMN the 1st day gruden to over he said he was shelving the read option play RG3 was 2500 miles away and if all this CSI power were true , then briles would be coach

Skinsdad, we have both lost objectivity on the QB position. You defend them as if they were your daughters virginity. And I freely admit I may expect more out of these guys then they are ever capable of achieving. Lets just leave it there.

Thats just not right, dad. In his initial press conference, he basically said (I'm paraphrasing) that he would be crazy not to use RG3s legs as well as his arms. A few days later (after someone got to him), his tune changed and he said that RG3 would become a pocket passer. Now who might that have been?

Talk about debunking, the videos are out there, look them up.

Cooley breakdown on griff was extremely informative and a really good listen yesterday. Offensive breakdown at 5 on Tuesdays.

He provides the following things he'd like to see from Griff.

1) Needs to run a minimum of 5 times a game. Otherwise he will never see less pressure without the threat of the run.

2) RO actually protects Griff from injury better than just simply standing in the pocket. (I think we all agree about this)

3) Needs to learn how to be Less flustered with pressure.

4) Re-miking the Middle linebacker and adjusting at the line. Indicated this could be Licht as well.

5) Needs to figure out how to step up in the pocket and slide LEFT. Right now he always steps right.

Comment from Kevin Sheehan which I agree with.

'In the scheme, he played well. The problem being, I'd like the scheme to be different, then he could be great.'

Cooley always has good insight and also has deep connections in the locker room. He usually knows whats really going on. The skins do need to run RG3 a couple of times. This will stop the defense from pinning their ears back and blitzing every time.

Keim saying he always looked at this year as a rebuild, not reload year. I've always had a lot of respect for his analysis of the team.

Fans are going to go crazy and really lose their minds, if we lose this weekend. Can't say I blame them.

Honestly, this could be a very long season. Skins fans, brace yourself.

No big surprise here unfortunately. Won't practice today.
