Bama #2 is on reputation alone. Bama is thin in back 7. Granted the guys that are there can play. Last year was not one of bamas best, i mean oh damn it Clemson just scored again i see. Point is this years defense will not be as good as last years.

Michigan lost a lot of their defense.

Mississippi St lost their 3 best defensive players in the 1st round: Sweat, Simmons and Elam.

This list isn't a good one.

Iowa will have a strong defense. As long as AJ Epenesa stays healthy, he could be the best D lineman in the country.

Will their offense be on the field long enough to give the defense a rest? They have talent.

I call BS. No Oklahoma on the list and Miami at number five. After Georgia's piss poor showing against Tejas last year, they still make the top 10?

They held Ehlinger to 6.3 YPA and Texas averaged only 4.6 yards per play (well below their season average of 5.5). How is that a piss poor showing? And UGA held opposing QBs to under 6 YPA on the entire season.

I've said it a few times before and I will say it again. I think Iowa will be a 10-win team.

They won't be CFP good, but they may pull off a Top 10 finish (depending on when they lose or who they lose to).

Iowa will be that team for the first half of the season, the offense will be no help to the defense. A lot of 3-and-outs with not good field position. But I think Iowa's offense will improve a good amount 2nd half of the season.

the home schedule looks very favorable, though your road games look pretty tough (ISU, Mich, Wisc, NW, Neb). I think they're capable of 10 wins but it's going to be tough. Hoping to make it to the Iowa-Michigan game. :)

I don't think the offense will be any worse than last year . Same QB, same backs , better OL, wideouts can't possibly be worse and whoever plays TE will be good .

I'd say 9-3 would be my guess. Iowa St and Nebraska are vastly overrated but it'll still be 50/50 to win both . NW, Wisky and Michigan on the road is tough

Yeah but outside of Auburn those were some of the best teams and offenses in the entire country. Two of those were NY’s 6 games and another was a playoff game. Even Auburn was the marquee opening game of the season in terms of profile. Giving up 27 on average to those kind of top notch offenses is pretty solid, especially considering the scoring averages these days. The problem is the offense has been fairly pedestrian and they haven’t challenged themselves much OOC.

So... Washington is good just not "Best Teams" from other conferences good ? Heck Peterson won against similar opponents as those when he was at Boise. In fact I still don't think he has fielded a team at Washington that was as good as a couple of the Boise teams he fielded.

If we get good LB play, I think ND will be a top 10 defense. 2 potential first rounders on the D-line and an already good secondary.

The Gators face at least 3 of these teams, and are going make them look like they have 10 men on the field.

You forgot to count Michigan in the bowl game.

That’s fair. If I remember correctly in six of his eight seasons at Boise he finished 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, and 14 in the rankings. The 2008 - 2011 teams were special. The 2006 one that beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta was pretty damn good too.

He’s done well at Washington, but I expected better mainly because of the resources he now has. Truthfully I let my emotions get in the way a little bit with him because I love the dude and what we accomplished for my team. But the fact of the matter to your point is he’s had four big OOC games in four seasons and he’s dropped all of them.

Because Tejas scored more points against Georgia's defense than they did against Oklahoma's in the Big 12 Championship? I mean we all know how good of a defense Oklahoma had last year, right?

Miami on this list is a joke. Basically any team with a pulse on offense last year had no problem putting up 27+ on them last year.

I have no problem going homer on this and saying OSU will bounce back and have close to a top 10 defense this year. The front 4 is going to be very good, and we finally have a LB coach who seems to know what he's doing. Bringing in an NFL defensive backs coach to the staff will also help a lot.

Cool, they scored 1 more point. They also averaged 1.7 more yards per play in the OU game (and that's not getting into the 48 points they scored on OU in the first game). Texas also scored 10 of their points in the UGA game on a short field (the TD being set up at the 12 yard line on a Swift fumble).

I agree. But to be fair, I think Kellen Moore was a better college QB than anyone he's gotten at Washington. It really pays dividends to have a really smart guy who's really coachable and is a natural leader. That's going to get you further than just have a big arm or being fast.

So what you are saying that Georgia's defense was only marginally better than Oklahoma's?
