Sign him up long term. Still young and got the skills to do 20 each night. He was even making Lebron his bitch at certain points.

I do not understand how you can have somebody that close to the basket missing a rebound and having an opponent sweep in and get it.

If I was Don'tknowi, I would have the next practice to be nothing but shooting free throws. Swaggy missing a free throw. This is plain lame.

Agree we should put Swaggy P. On lockdown. Xavier i think has some potential, but lacks consistency imo. Wesley Johnson is athletic as it gets, but why can't he go around defenders and attack the basket...?

Ah well, i digress...

I think X would be a good fit too if they can get him cheap. He's still young after all and could potentially be a good 12-15ppg guy off the bench with a decent coach.

I just can't over his lack of foot speed. I like his court vision and passing ability, but he is slow. I don't see him as a long term option. With so many speedy PGs out there, we can do better.

I could see him as a very viable 2nd or 3rd PG when we get Farmar and Blake back, but agree that he's not fast enough to be a full time starter.

I think its too early to pass judgement on Marshall. It's a small sample size and you always have to be cautious about putting up stats on bad teams (the adage is true; someone has to put up stats). Being in ACC country, I saw a ton of his college career. He was a great college PG (mostly for his court vision) and figured he'd could make it as a rotation player in the NBA. But I was stunned just how awful he was last year in PHX. He looked totally overwhelmed. Maybe his stint in the D-League got his mind right. He's worth keeping an eye on but I wouldn't hold a roster spot for him just yet. Right now I'd have the starting PG spot for next year either be a FA or a draft pick (Marcus Smart?) with Farmar as the steady back up.

As for Young, depends on his price. My guess is he's going to ask a lot because his numbers will look impressive. He's not worth anything over 8 mil a year. He can score, but that's about it. Honestly, I'd keep Meeks over him. Heck, you could probably get Meeks and Henry for the price Young will ask and get the same production.

I think a lot of players on our current roster would actually want to stay on this team (apart from Kaman). Didn't Young get better offers from better teams last summer? I believe he even willingly took a pay cut to play for the Lakers so I actually don't see his demands being too high. Heck, he even WANTS to come off the bench despite the way he's playing.

Obviously time will tell.

Yeah, its true that he took less but its a bit misleading. It's not like he turned down 3 years, 22 mil from other teams just to play for the Lakers. He's been trying to get a long term deal for a couple of seasons (as any player would, its good business). But when he entered the market again last summer, he was only mustering short deals (ie 1 year, 3 or 4 mil) mostly because he's been a knucklehead his entire career. LA offered him a 1 year vets minimum (little over a mil) with a player opt for a 2nd year. He decided he'd rather play in his home town on a short deal and than elsewhere on a short deal while trying to play his way into a more guaranteed contract. Which is fine. But he's out playing that contract and if he does win 6th man of the year (I doubt it since the team stinks), he'd have great leverage to get a substantial pay raise.

And that's why I'd be hesitant to bring him back. It depends on his price. From what I see, he still looks like the player he's been much of his career. I'd be fine with him at 3 or 4 years, at 4 to 5 mil each yeah. But at 7ish mil or higher? I'm balking. That's just too much for a player who just gives you high volume scoring imo and one that has a track record of low IQ play.
