I'd like to see the Sadzeck get a shot in the short term, could be a good learning experience for him
Yeah, to me Sadzeck should get first crack at it and I half way thought he would come up a week or so ago. I wouldn't mind running a few guys out there and seeing where we stand depth-wise in the organization.

I think if we decide to trade who we go after will be determined by how much they think Holland was affected by this inflammation. If they don't expect anything more from him after the inflammation goes away than what we got overall from him before the inflammation was discovered then they are going to want to trade for a better starter than if they are just picking up depth.

Rangers' A.J. Griffin: To rejoin rotation Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Griffin (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list to start Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

It was previously believed that Griffin would start the series opener Friday, but that will instead go to Nick Martinez. His last major league start came May 7 against the Tigers, but he'll look to continue the success he's enjoyed thus far, allowing three or fewer earned runs in each of his six starts this season. Given the current state of the Rangers' rotation, there is no reason to believe he won't take the ball every fifth game moving forward.

Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Warming up slowly
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Choo went 1-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk and two runs Wednesday against the Reds.

After an April slump that ended in a two-month DL stint, Choo's slowly getting it together at the plate. He's picked up seven hits in his last seven games and is showing strong plate discipline (13:12 BB:K for the season, far better than any ratio he's posted before), suggesting that Choo should keep picking up his stats. If he's lingering on your waiver wire or available cheaply via trade, now's a good time to go shopping.

Rangers' Cole Hamels: Strikes out eight Reds en route to eighth win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hamels (8-1) whiffed eight Reds over six innings of one-run ball Wednesday, allowing just five hits and two walks in a 6-4 win.

The bullpen made this game closer than it needed to be, but Hamels gave them more than leeway to work with by way of his fifth straight quality start. He may not be quite as dominant as the good old days -- his 1.40 HR/9 and 3.44 BB/9 are both easily career worsts -- but the 32-year-old lefty has given fantasy owners precious little to complain about. That said, he's never had peripherals this ugly (4.57 FIP) before, so the baseball gods may send some painful regression Hamels' way soon. He'll head to New York for a road start against the Yankees on Tuesday.

Agreed, just keep rotating guys in and out of those 4th and 5th spots til you find something that works

17 games until the AS break, guess that gives us about 6 starts total, from whomever gets those opportunities. 2 from Nmart, 2 for Sadzeck and maybe Chi Chi or someone else split the other 2?

I don't mind Romeo's idea of Sadzeck. So far we hitting on all cylinders on our call ups so lets try another.

Depending on how the rotation is set up the starts are against BoSox, NYY, and Minny. Id probably be happy with winning 2-3 of those games.

I'd be mindful to keep Ramos available for long relief during the games Martinez starts, as he still hasn't quite figured out how to not get shelled the third time through a lineup.

Cruz just tied the M's and Tigers game at 4 w his solo HR. Wilhelmsen is coming in to pitch now for the Mariners, watch him shut down the Tigers after pitching like shit for the Rangers

One thing we will have going during our pitching crisis is the M's and Stros will probably keep losing their share too.

Conceivably they could all be spot starters/long men

They may call up Lohse just because he has MLB experience but we see how well that works for Fielder On The Roof.

Tom Wilhelmsen allowed 20 hits and 14 runs over 7 1/3 IP in last 6 outings with Texas. Threw a scoreless inning with one hit today for M's.

Surely he doesn't become good going back to the Mariners, right?

It happens. Apparently going to Seattle made Leonys a power hitter.
