Yeah, the context at least shows that there was some logic behind it. But it's still a bad take,

I think the Lakers will approach it similar to game 2.

They'll come out looking to close out the series. But if the game gets away from them in the 2nd half, they'll sit the starters (especially Lebron and AD) for the 4th quarter.

There's a difference in loving your team and thinking they will win the series and knowing history tells you that a team like the Warriors is going to put up a fierce last stand at home even if it's to not watch the other team celebrate on your court in front of your fans. I'm about as big a Laker fan as you can be but there are games where you know it's going to be tough to come away with a win. I hope they have that knock out punch tonight and end it, but seven out of ten times that team thats down is going to give it their all because for them there's no tomorrow.

As i said in my post, I'm not expecting anyone to guarantee a lakers win but entering these games with an open mind considering lakers are 7-3 in the playoffs would be nice

Yeah, DP said that when he first heard about it, he assumed that it was one of those "throw away" lines like "Hey. I wonder if the Lakers would consider...?"

But he said that when he looked into it more, it appears he was serious.

Lakers split the season series with the pre-deadline roster (all 4 games Jan 9th or earlier), one of those losses (Jan 9th) being without AD and Lebron.

Nuggets are playing well with home court, better than the warriors. It could be close by I think nuggets in 6 if they do meet up.

I don't think it's overly pessimistic (for him) to predict the Ws win game 5, it's probably reality. Just like it's not overly pessimistic (for me) to predict the Lakers win the series, being up 3-1. It's not a lock but it's the most likely thing. I'd give the Ws maybe a 15-20% chance to win it now. If/when they win game 5 that rises to 25-30% perhaps. It's just being real.

Right now? The Warriors have a 25% chance to win the series.

They win tonight? It's 41.86% they win the series heading into game 6.

They win game 6 and it's 80.65% they win the series heading into game 7
