So you give up the future to get Fields or Lance?? Can you guarantee that either of them will be as good as Watson, Jackson or Brees?
I always think of 1998 and how the media, certainly not the social media (Wasn't any), and the Experts went back and fiorth on who the Colts should draft. Leaf or Manning, Manning or leaf? The month leading up to the draft was a nightmare. The Colt took Manning.

And what about Ryan Leaf?? the number two pick was one of the biggest busts in NFL history.

Move forward to 1999...............................................Sixth Round, pick #199...................Tom Brady.

The draft is a crapshoot. No one can say for sure if any one of these guys can play in the NFL. I'd just as soon take a chance in Round 5 on Dustin Crum of Kent State.

I don't think anyone is advocating trading up to 4 or 5. I think they are just spitballing while waiting for the draft to get here. You know ... forum stuff.

how did you jump from monds , costello and mills to fields ? . i said we arent trading up to get guys we can have if we stay put or are projected to be later picks . fields would require a trade up , so would lance and at this point the cost could be to great . monds costello nor mills are projected 1st rounders so why in hell would i trade up to get them ?

only about 50 % of these top 5 qbs will make it as franchise qbs . monds , costello and mills are worth taking shots at but statistically its about 1 in 100 they make it as franchise guys

now the question is which risk are you willing to go for ? gutting 2 drafts for lance or fields or hoping a 2-7th round qb strikes gold ?

The problem for Atlanta in regards to trying to trade 4 is that they've already restructured Ryan so teams know it's highly unlikely Atlanta goes QB given their cap issues and roster construct for 21 and 22

The Falcons can demand whatever they want but if it's too much teams will just call their bluff . Cincy isn't taking a QB, neither is Miami or Detroit or Carolina now. Den er may be willing to just sit there and dare Atlanta to go QB knowing they won't

true but Denver has to worry about the pats jumping them to get a QB. Plus Dallas wants to trade up for Pitts. Pitts could go 5 to Cincy at worst 8 to Carolina.

If we don't trade out of 4 my guess is we take Pitts

that's tempting but why not go safe and take Sewell? If you are going to protect Ryan this is the best way to go. He already has enough weapons in the passing game.

I think the OL is actually fine if we scheme better on offense. Matt tends to hold the ball instead of force it which leads to sacks. I like Pitts for 2 reasons. 1. Ryan loves TEs. He really utilizes them well and Pitts is the best TE prospect in awhile. More importantly 2. Julio is likely gone before this season or best case after thus season . We are cap strung and us not restructuring him points to this FO not seeing him in Atlanta long term. With him likely being gone it wouldn't hurt to bring in an elite weapon to replace him

That said I'd be 100% fine taking Sewell too

If you think Julio is gone then just take Chace at #4.

I'm almost sure he's gone . I'd rather get Pitts this year then go D and run game.

Actually what I'd rather do is trade back 5-6 spots , get Parsons and go from there but if we stay at 4 I'm guessing it'll be offebse

It has to be offense. Great LT's dont grow on trees. Putting a TE over a LT is a mistake in my opinion.

The issue is we just restructured Matthew's and traded up 2 years ago to draft McGary at T. Drafting Sewell is basically throwing the towel in on McGary and moving him to G which is possible but he has been solid the first 2 years so it'd be a weird move especially since he'd need to switch sides too since we drafted Lindstrom with the other 1st rounder 2 years ago at RG

atl could get a decent haul because teams will bid for the spot . they want the qb and 4 is it

a trade down with the broncos could get then some extra picks and be in striking range of pitts
I'd love a trade down. We need picks bad. Our roster and cap situation next year is truly awful

Wait, a real falcon fan is saying Julio may be gone this year or next.
Do you suppose a release or trade? This is very very interesting
