Seems like the guys at Walter really do their homework and know Mayhew well. They have us taking (gulp) Todd Gurley. They explain he was a top 10 pick prior to his ACL tear, making him a great value there. WTF? Running backs are barely first round worthy anymore, let alone one coming off a torn ACL. Too early to talk draft, I know, but I thought I'd share. PS we better take an offensive lineman in the 1st and 2nd round.

Gurley wouldn't surprise me.

But in this scenario Id rather Mayhew pull a Mayhew (Taking Gurley would be pulling a Mayhew in the first place.)and trade up for Gordon. Or chill out, trade back and grab Tevin Coleman.

I used to like Walter football. Then they stopped paying attention and seem like they're a few months behind the other "experts" on player rankings and such. They're mock drafts usually miss horribly come draft day, from what I've seen, at least.

As for the o-linemen, well Mayhew has been big these last few years on drafting them in the first three rounds, so hopefully that continues next May...

Best. Player. Available. The Lions could use depth or upgrades everywhere except QB (and TE, and to a lesser extent LB), where we're locked in. OT, OG, DT, DE, CB, S, WR, RB are all places that could stand an upgrade.

Me, I wouldn't touch an RB in the first 2 rounds ever again unless you're getting a generational talent. Just too easy to find good ones if you have a good line and scheme.

I'd rather they took another DE if he had a 93 on their board than take a CB they grade at 82.

Plenty of backs to choose from and I doubt they all just fly off the board. Should be good value there late in the 2nd...maybe 3rd round.

This. Exactly. No RBs early. Too short of a shelf life...

Backs are a dime a dozen....we need a line. I watched the highlights yesterday of Leveon Bell....highlighting David Decastro leading the way. Of Course Zach Martin is helping the Cowboys run over people. Ill take Joique behind 2 new stud lineman.

Ill take Cedric Ogbuehi at RT and Cameron Irving at LG (he can play center or tackle also) Slide Swanson over to C, Warford at RG Reiff at LT, Waddle as the top backup.

Mayhew loves the D line. If we lose Suh and or Fairley my bet would be on a first round DT. Otherwise O line would be the next logical choice, or a Corner.

Even with playoffs looming, we Lions fans can't help ourselves. Creatures of habit, I suppose. Hahahaha.

We are finally at the point where we can go BPA. Even if it means a RB. Good teams have that luxury. Bad ones don't. Personally, I would still rather get a CB. Mathis is old and we don't have a great replacement for him. O-Line as well. Dom is done. Sims is just an OK backup. We only have Swanson in the pipeline. Those 2 holes could get filled in FA though and that is what I am hoping for which would lead to BPA with most every pick.

Hahaha. I know man.

I just think its funny. It's not like I didn't comment. (Seriously, Id love Tevin Coleman (I remember what i was doing the day he was born. Tigers played the Mariners)in Honalulu Blue. I'll keep it positive and not say why though. Hahahaha.)

I feel like I've been here before....

I'm still convinced Mayhew's big board was

1) Sammy Watkins
2) Mike Evans
3) Eric Ebron

Don't see much changing next year with Calvin getting older/injuries piling up.

Next time I get shitfaced with Lewand Ill ask.

Speaking of getting drunk, I'm really up for a lions board get together for one of these last few remaining games. There's got to be a bar centrally located somewhere.

Chicago is the central point when I am going up to Tawas. So I guess we meet at a bar near Cleaves place.
