According to the "know it alls", Shawn Jefferson interviewed Friday. Gillette Stadium is now a tomb. BB, Patricia have been seen and of course the Krafts have been seen going in and out of the front door. Most of the working staff had the week or more, following the last game, off from work. Only critical staff were on the job.

Some folks believe the gig is up and Bill O'Brien will be the OC. Others believe that he's in line to interview for the AZ Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers HC positions. There's some that believe if OB does interview for other positions, Adrian Klemm will be the choice. He's got a solid background handling the Steelers OL, handling the RB game calls and has leadership experience as an Asst HC with the Oregon Ducks. No other candidates have as wide a range of offense experience.

Dead silence about what Jerrod Mayo will be doing. A shit ton of guessing. As the silence becomes more deafening, there's a sense that Steve Belichick might be going either to a Div. I college position as DC or and Asst DC/DB Coach in the NFL. This will allow Mayo to takke the DC position officially as well as an Asst HC position as well. It is a fact that Mayo is staying. He had to have been promised something better than HC or the Carolina Panthers or he would not have stuck around.

Historically, BB has dragged his feet when making any kind of staff or personnel announcements. All indications are that Kraft and BB came to an agreement to show their cards immediately in 2023 when something has happened. Bill still seems to be dragging at least one foot.
Bill has been quite busy. I would not describe that as "dragging his feet"

You should contact Kraft and tell him that he needs to order Belichick to talk more - even though likely, no contracts have been agreed upon, he could still provide information to keep the sporting world informed on private interviews!

They say he's dragging his feet because, as I said, almost all of their "sourtces" were gone fro9m the premises. Then again, the interviews were conducted via video conference. Information isn't as readily available if noone can be sneaking around.

Bert Breer reported on Sports Sunday that Jerrod Mayo was present for all OC interviews and took over for a portion of each one of them. Breer has good sources and he didn't insert one "if", "might", "maybe" or "could" in his entire report.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but who could the "sources" possibly be? BB? Mayo? Kraft?

If the reports of Mayo being in the interview are accurate then it sure seems the Patriots wanted it leaked and are controlling the narrative.

Mike Reiss is reporting on NFL.com that the Cardinals are creating bumps in the Patriots' road.

First, they are trying very hard to get Bill O'brien to yalk with them about the HC position They just hired Monti Ossenfort as GM. Ossenfort was the guy that BO tried to get the Houston Ownership to bring to the Texans, but they went after Caserio instead. BO and MO are very close friends.

Reiss also reports that the Cardinals and Browns are talking about DeAndre Hopkins. Browns want to put Hopkins back with Deshaun Watson. Supposedly, Hopkins is more interested in playing for BB. Then again, no one really knows how DH feels about playing with DW again.

They may have leaked it. Tough to control another person's method of reporting it.

Could it be they are actually trying to create a "smooth road" for themselves and not trying to creates bumps for the Pats?

They are probably trying to do just that. But, it's creating bumps in the Patriots' road. Probably unintentionally, but one does what's best for one's self.

If Bill O'Brien doesn't want the job then fuck him. Keenan McCardell is an interesting choice too.

Why would he turn down an HC for an OC job? It's not about turning it down as much as it is taking the better offer.

Totally. But still, fuck him. He won't stay with the Pats for long anyway before another HC position opens up. Keenan sounds like a more fun choice anyway since it would be totally new blood trying to make a name for himself.

True, but I thought the intent was to attract an OC with experience. Zach Robinson intrigues me

I'm down for anybody not named Judge or Patricia. That said, I'm intrigued by somebody from the outside that might bring in new ideas and experiences.

Other than him being an asshole? I'd be down but there must be a reason he wasn't invited for an interview.

Seriously....

He took over a McD offense led by TB and all he had to do was not screw up (get in the way).
Then he took over a Texans team with Hopkins AND Watson and he screwed them into two other teams (and himself out of a job).
Then he went to a perennial college championship team as OC and how did that work out for them?

He's probably better than the other two Jabronies, but not by much...

IT doies seem that BB is making sure that he doesn't get a young, smart, modern guy like Zac Johnson (LAR), John Butler (BUF) or Jason Vrabel (GB) who are all Passing Game Coordinators and are forward thinki8ng, young men. Or even Frank Reich who's not young by any means but has plenty of experience.

Every guy he's interviewed has a past connection to him
