Pat Shurmer, future head coach of the Giants.
yeah I was just thinking if he gets enough credit.
Seems like every QB you plugged in has succeeded on this team. Got a good running game without your starter.
Everyone talks of the defense as they should, but was just curious if the OC was under the radar on what he has accomplished?

It looks like the returner waved his arm for the fair catch twice, but both times, Gibson was looking away.

That said, it's illegal to hit the return guy before the ball gets there even if he doesn't call for a fair catch, so....
Yeah well he kinda just ran into him, didn’t “hit” him. Then just stood there confused. It was an incredibly odd chain of events. Then they show the coach counseling him on the sideline.

Zimmer was what at the bengals when they were on HBOs hard knocks? He stole the show, he was hilarious, good to see him as a coach

Returner waived off, then one time waived fair catch directly from the waiving off movement. Gibson was tracking the ball - was as much the returner running into him as Gibson running into the returner.

I don't think it matters by rule. If he calls for a FC and there's contact, it's on the D player. I'd have to look it up.

It was odd, I'll grant you. I don't think he was trying to drill the return guy either, but at the same time, running into him is as good as hitting him - he has to have a chance to get the ball.

How long before Peyton starts interrupting that exciting blonde Singer chick on the Nationwide commercials?

Yeah, that is the rule.... though the play might not be as stupid as some claim. Basically as a gunner you are f-ed in such a situation.
