Not a great year to be a FA RB. Loaded draft and position that is not highly valued. Peterson will obviously find work but I feel for the other guys now as more bodies added will just make it that much more challenging for them.

Would make a lot of sense for the Giants.
The early odds I saw (taking out the Vikings now), had Packers, Patriots, Raiders, Giants, and Cowboys. Cowboys were +2500 though. The Field was still the big favorite.

Packers would be interesting, but they rarely grab free agents. Plus I think they'd rather have Lacy at cheaper. Same with the Pats and Blount. My guess would be the Raiders after they let Murray go.

How long Peterson is on the market is totally a function of what he's willing to play for. If he wants MVP Peterson money, he's going to get realllllly bored.

@ 31 years old now I don't think he's ever gonna be the AP we saw back in the day.. Not many running backs are after age 30 ....

And he'll be 32 to start the season. There are guys who have had pretty good seasons at that age, or older, even with that many rushes. Franco Harris in 1983, Walter Payton in 1986, Emmitt Smith in 2001, and Frank Gore the last two years. All depends on how much he wants. And none of those guys essentially had 2 of the last 3 years off.

I sure hope to see him in teal and gold next year

50% chance he has one good season left in him
50% chance he is a fringe RB2 at this point.

That Vikings oline is a bit of a mess so Id imagine he is going somewhere with a good oline.

He needs a team that plays primarily from under center and a good offensive line. He's terrible out of the gun and at this point he isn't creating much on his own (although that's been somewhat tough to guage based on how horrible the Vikes oline has been the last 2 years).

yep...but that doesn't seem likely given his age and resent injuries unless Washington's owner wants to play

Good riddance.

He's played his last NFL snap. His ego won't let him take the $16 million pay cut necessary to come down to what he's worth. His style doesn't fit in the modern NFL. He's injury-prone with a lot of personal baggage and past his prime.

Correct. the Vikes paid AP roughly $18000 per yard over the last 3 seasons.

I've been arguing for a few years that AP will never be the same guy against those who thought the Cowboys should trade for him the last couple of off seasons...BUT...those odds are ridiculous. 50% chance for one good season or 50% chance he isn't even a good #2??? That's it??? Come on.
