Yeah....first thing I thought of when I saw this deal was that the Vikings are really unsure about the future of TB.

The nice thing for the Vikings is now Bradford's deal for them is 2-years/$24 million. That is dirt cheap for a starting caliber QB even a bad one in today's NFL.

Alex Smith: 2 2nd round picks for a QB on a two year deal
Sam Bradford: A 1st and 4th for a QB on a two year deal

Money is similar as a cap hit to the new team adjusted for inflation. That 1st round pick though, woof.

Something that does help though in this situation is that the Eagles are still on the hook for $11 million of Bradford's contract. That means the Vikings are only paying $7 million this year for Bradford's services.

$7 mil this year & $17 mil, $13 base & $4 roster bonus, for 2017. The Vikings will have to decide by March whether they Keep Bradford or not, that is when his bonus is due & his 2017 salary becomes guaranteed. I doubt they will fully know where teddy is at by then.

Bradford finally gets a decent team. Not the dumpster fires that he's had to play on.

You'd think the vikings would have learned from the Walker trade. A first for a one year prayer is flat stupid.

It's steep. But the vikes are more desperate and the roster is more SB ready then the Chiefs was.

Plus, anything is better than what the Twins pay guys like Hughes and Nolasco...

The real winner in this trade? The Cleveland Browns: Chase Daniel is now the starting QB for the Eagles.

My guess is they know that Bradford is the QB for the next 2-years. If they thought Bridgewater stood a chance of returning next year they would not be trading a 1st round pick for a 1-year rental of an average at best QB.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this was they have Shaun Hill as the backup and he will play 6-8 games.

Do you even pick up the 5th year option if you're the Vikings for Teddy after this year if he can't come back next year either?

That's actually great for Minnesota.

If Nick Foles time in KC so far is of any indication, Bradford is going to need at least a couple months to learn the offense, not weeks.

A 2nd rounder should have been fine but Philly had them by the balls.

Well if Bradford plays mediocre in 2016, I think it's still a tough call. But the good news is that the injury will likely drive down Teddy's value just in time for him to sign his first market value contract.

He might struggle early in the season while he learns a new offense but Peterson and the defense are good enough to carry them through the first couple months.

By the end of the year he should be an upgrade over Bridgewater. He's never had the supporting cast to show his talent as a pure passer. He's better than people think imo
