At least with the agreement by Boise St. that Petersen isn't required to coach their bowl game, he can get to work right away on building his crew and recruiting. They've got a lot of work to do as Sark didn't leave us with much. One thing that works in our favor is this was projected to be a smaller class. About 18 scholarships, but could of reached 20 depending. But much will depend on roster moves. But I'm sure Petersen will get to work fast. He's one of the top evaluators of football talent in the game. Gonna be very exciting next two months, but I think we better be prepared for a class that may not hit the Top25.

Lockett could be gone as coach Heyward was his primary recruiter. Sark will obviously try to flip him to USC if they have the scholarship spot.

I'm sure there is gonna be some "waffling" but I also believe the hiring of Petersen, might curb these 7 commits from switching to other schools, I'm looking at what they had listed for now and lets see how this thing plays out.....

Just like with Sark, expect announcements of Petersens staff to start coming in early next week. We'll then have a better idea. Lots more to figure out.

And possible a few current Boise St. recruits might end of flipping to UW as well.

Plus time for Petersen to make calls to Budda Baker and Kaleb McGary to say wassup.

Someone who could be one of those flips is 3 star DE Jaylen Johnson (Corona, CA)

He had a boatload of offers from programs like Oregon, ASU, ND, USC, etc.. and he really liked coach Petersen so he committed to Boise St.. With the news, he's now decommitted from Boise St., and I'm sure Petersen will have him visit.

Oh I'm sure there is gonna be some back and forth as the staffs get sorted out, I don't even think SC staff is completely set.....

I would be shocked to see Baker come here now. He was a long shot at best before, but a rebuilding UW program will now almost surely have him going to Oregon or maybe UCLA.

I would also be shocked if we ended up with anything in the top 30 recruiting classes given the short window open to them to build a class and how few solid commits Sark already had. What they do have going for them is USC probably had some solid commits already and are still on a sanction shortened recruiting allotment so they can't poach the entire class.

I don't think anyone believes Baker will go anywhere other than Oregon or UCLA and most pundits believe Oregon has the edge.

3 star Safety Joseph (JoJo) McIntosh (West Hills, CA) who committed to UCLA in August got a phone call from Coach Petersen and now has an offer from Washington.

It's official. Sark flipped DB Jonathan Lockett who announced this evening he's committing to USC. Not shocking.

My whole thought process on this is simple let them go, some of these kids aren't coming cause of the academics, there coming cause of the coach, I trust Petersen to get a class assembled and there his kids...

Yahh. And with pretty much any univ that has a entire coach staff change, they only have 2 months or less to put a class together. You can't judge them fully on their recruiting job till the 2nd class where they had a full year to put it together.

I can get you riled up seeing Sark flipping these recruits to his new gig, but it's to be expected and best to keep your emotions in check. I was really pissed at the first, but cooler heads prevail and this is just how it works in situations like this.

And word is DE Don Hill decommitted from UW last night and is now listing Oregon and of course USC as his choices. I'm hoping by next week we get some final announcements on the new coaching staff and these guys can really get cracking at building a class.

It is the sad part of the college game, fans get there hopes up on a certain recruit, and stuff like this happens. The plus side though is this coaching change started earlier then normal, and there is time to get a decent class put together, plus there is the factor Petersen could change minds of kids that are looking else where.

Appears plenty of guys are waiting in Jan and LOI week to announce. I'm sure we'll start getting good news in Jan. USC is still limited in how many they can take and some of the PAC schools already have the majority if their classes filled.

It actually works out well this was projected to be a smaller class this year. 17-20 scholys.

Go Dawgs!!!

"Paid his own way"

:laugh3:

Sorry. I just have an extremely dim view of the recruiting process and this is not a knock on UCLA or Jim Mora.

Fucking piece of shit Sark. I know he is just doing whatever he can to make his program the best but it just irritates me. I shouldn't be mad because he is just doing his job but it just really pisses me off.

I think Petersen should try to go after the guys that Sark got to flip. Committing to a school is more than just committing to a coach, so if he already committed to UW once he can do it again.

My whole thought process on this is simple let them go, some of these kids aren't coming cause of the academics, there coming cause of the coach, I trust Petersen to get a class assembled and there his kids...

None of us were ever top football recruits so we really don't know what the process is like but I have to imagine it is more about the school than the coach.
