What the hell happened to his nephew? Was he actually drowning and someone else saved him? Or was his life never in danger?

It appears he made up the whole 'rescue' story.
What I wanna know is .... why??? Was he covering something up?
He has an attorney making statements. You tell me.It appears he made up the whole 'rescue' story.

LOL ... I'm sure the Oregon, Stanford and UCLA's boards are lit up with this one ... along with the other PAC12s.
This is karma for all the shit SC fans gave us over the Te'o fiasco.![]()
It seems likely that he injured his ankles doing something stupid and didn't want to have to tell his coaches and teammates.
Seriously. I can understand that young people do some really stupid things . . but holy hell - why would you want to call so much attention to it?Moral of the Story: If you ever mess up a little and are going to try to hide the truth, don't make up a story that's going to be on national news making you look like a goddamn hero.

For the record, this particular USC fan defended Te'o from day 1.![]()

I've read some books about human nature. People who are con artists or lie all the time, tend to keep the lies short and blurry. Regular people ( and kids) who find themselves in an unfamiliar bad situation and try to get out of it by lying tend to get caught by giving way too much information that doesn't add up under further scrutiny. I figured that out when my now teenage son gave some long ass story odds are he wasn't telling the truth.
Don't know if anyone brought this up since ND fans are getting a giggle out of this. Shaw said this (the pool and nephew part) happened in Palmdale. Isn't that were Manti's imaginary gf lived ? I smell a conspiracy.lol
Josh Shaw?s Heroic Rescue Story Was a Lie; He?s Been Suspended: USC | KTLA

OK, so maybe his friend's place was being robbed and he jumped out of a window to escape? Not heroic, but not unreasonable necessarily.
No reason to make up the other story if that were the case.
